They do put on a decent show. But every show on a given tour is usually pretty much the same. So I would never do multiple shows like I do with PJ and some other bands.mcgruff10 said:
Agree, never understood the hype with the foos. I have tickets to see them in phlly in august and have no desire to go.pdalowsky said:
Im with you on the foo's, I wish I understood the hype around them or how on earth they fill countless stadiums. beyond their first two records the music, imo at least, is just bang average and I couldnt be less interested in going to see them.nicknyr15 said:
Because they’re no fun. Their idea of fun is pushing clearance posters on us. It’s a shame I can’t stand the foos or phish or countless other bands that always do cool shitmcgruff10 said:foo fighters are playing irving plaza and starland ballroom the next few days!!! why can't pearl jam do something like this?!?!
Dave does have a solid aura around him (outside his recent mishaps that is) but there has to be more to it than that.
They played some club shows in the Uk last month and even driving one hour to get in seemed too much effort.

Was thinking the same. I always listen to Foos, but took a massive live break on them (for not any reason really). I went from last show seen in 99 or 2002 at Roseland and Hammerstein Ballroom to seeing them at Citi Field in 2024. They still got it.mcgruff10 said:

I'm more surprised that as of next week it will be 10 months since Matt left the band and no drummer update. If you would have told me back on July 7th 2025 that we still wouldn't have any news on a new drummer by May of 2026, I would not have believed it. At this point, let's get a drummer and then talk of a tour.Chrisilein said:143 pages without any tour hint. It's likely that there is no need to announce a drummer with no plans/hints of new music or live shows. I'm sure that they have some candidates in mind, but there's no point in putting that news out there for no reason.
Different circumstances altogether, but the Foos didn't announce Josh Freese until 3 days before their 2023 tour started lol.

I always believed Ohana would be the only Pj shows this year with a possible 5-8 dates in South America in November. Now I’m shooting for March 2027, which fucking sucks. That said, I’m going to so many shows this year: Wolfmother, Geese, Goose, Strokes, Billy, Amyl, Gorillaz, Widespread Panic, Noah Kahan, Mt Joy, Gregory Allen IsakovPost edited by HailHailVitalogy on2003: Uniondale, MSG x2 | 2004: Reading | 2005: Gorge, Vancouver, Philly | 2006: East Rutherford x2, Gorge x2, Camden 1, Hartford | 2008: MSG x2, VA Beach | 2009: Philly x3 | 2010: MSG x2, Bristow | 2011: Alpine Valley x2 | 2012: MIA Philly | 2013: Wrigley, Charlottesville, Brooklyn 2 | 2014: Milan, Amsterdam 1 | 2016: MSG x2, Fenway x2, Wrigley 2 | 2018: Rome, Krakow, Berlin, Wrigley 2 | 2021: Sea Hear Now | 2022: San Diego, LA x2, MSG, Camden, Nashville, St. Louis, Denver | 2023: St. Paul 1, Chicago x2, Fort Worth x2, Austin 2 | 2024: Las Vegas 1, Seattle x2, Indy, MSG x2, Philly x2, Baltimore, Ohana 2 | 2025: Florida x2, Atlanta x2, Pittsburgh x20

To each their own. I’ve seen other shows there and it’s a great venue (no idea what makes it a “fire trap”)!Get_Right said:

It is such a disappointment really. 2024/2025 the band was so much on fire in the best way. Especially so late in their career. Best run since 03 (maybe 06, but probably 03) so it really sucks just kind of being ghosted.coco butter said:

Matt left, and knowing that replacing him would take a while, they decided to use the time for a hiatus.#Grievance20250 -

100% with you on this, even this summer when they're playing Anfield in Liverpool on a Thursday and Saturday night then you can maybe expect one song different between the two nights. We complain about the lack of setlist diversity if PJ have maybe 6 or 7 repeats over two shows, with Foo Fighters it's more like 23 out of 24 songs will be repeated.aisleseats said:

As someone who went to the London show I'd suggest you missed out. If you love the energy of live music then seeing a band of their stature in a small venue with a stripped back stage setup and just bringing energy, emotion and simply the unadulterated joy of playing live music then its quite an experience.pdalowsky said:

I have never fully understood the fan expectation that there will be some grand unveiling for the new drummer. The new guy can really never be a direct replacement for Matt, they just won't have the same shared history nor are they likely to be an equal collaborator/full band member. I have always felt that this is much more likely to be a Josh or Boom type deal with the new guy either being introduced as part of releasing new music or when they next hit the road.CantKeepmedown said:It's likely that there is no need to announce a drummer with no plans/hints of new music or live shows.
