Zelensky could have ended this war 2 years ago but refused to negotiate.  Fast forward to now with a million dead and he’s laughing all the way to the bank, but not for long.
Or maybe he knew there was no negotiating. Do you honestly think Putin would’ve just backed the troops out and left it alone after getting Crimea? He wants the entire country and the Trumps will make sure he gets a significant piece of it since it’s in their best interest to help him out.

It’s funny how you make it Zelenskys fault that people are dead.
A deal was done but he rejected it.

he would have to give up his independent country. How is that acceptable? Why are we acting like what Russia is doing is totally fine? Even just giving them an inch on this?

100%, To say nothing of the fact that if they had surrendered immediately they would have been slaughtered en masse anyway.

The alternate history where Ukraine cedes some territory and that's the end of it and everyone goes about their day is delusional

I think this is exactly spot on. America as a country decided. We deserve what we get.

I agree, though it's hugely unfortunate that we will all pay the price of electing a hateful dictator.  The blowback will be harsh.  All but the most wealthy will feel the pinch. People are going to struggle.  The question is, will voters who allowed this to happen learn from it?  Will they learn to fact check and think critically?  Or will they remain ignorant and prone to believing lies?  We shall see.
We are due for an economic correction. Better that it happens under trump this time. That's the only good I see coming from this.

To be determined is if the electorate will blame him.

My worry is that it starts under Trump but gets going in 4 years, possibly with a Democratic president and that president gets blamed for it.

The tragic part is that Harris’ economic policies would have benefited the majority of MAGA more than they would have ever benefited me directly.  But I try to look out for others that are less fortunate and understand that a rising tide lifts all boats.  But now I’m going to turn inward, protect myself and those that I care about from the damage that is about to come.  I’ll be fine, I can ride out the pain and unfortunately it will be MAGA that suffers the most.  I hope it was worth “owning the libs”, you know those people that were looking out for you whether you knew it or not.

when your citation for your argument relies on news sourcing from a country known for misinformation, and a 30 minute YouTube also using the same source, you’re argument is kinda cooked.

The GOP has been doing it since the patriarch of a family that admittedly gets lots of funding from Russians became its face.  Feels like they say “America First” so often to try to convince us…

Ah that’s why I missed it, I don’t read Russian news propaganda. No wonder Trump won with this level of fact checking

Agreed, bootleg.  Sadly, I must add that the others who will hurt the most will be migrants and LGBTQ+ folks.

And what will suffer most of all, for a time, will be the planet. But the planet is also the strongest.  I remember when COVID first hit and people were sheltering in place all over the world.  Wildlife flourish in a very short period of time.  The air got cleaner everywhere.  Nature bats last.  But now, with the Felon in charge, the planet will suffer quite a bit for some time and the impact will be great, especially on mammals (I assume everyone here knows humans are mammals).  There will be a great need to clean up the mess after these next four years in order to, hopefully, repair some of the damage.

Also the idea of Zelinski laughing as he deposits money into a war torn bank is funny.

As if the US is just giving him a check of money that he has to sign the back of and cash at a local bank and is not just giving him weapons the military industrial Complex manufactured and the money is staying in the US and going to contractors, manufacturers and their employees while costing the US NO lives and having them fight our ideological enemy of 70 years. Man he owned us. Getting away with it! Egg on our face!
