i'm old enough to remember when michelle obama wanted to make school lunches healthier and bloomberg wanted to limit the size of sodas and republicans lost their shit.
I am old enough to remember that kids won't eat their veggies and putting a salad bar in a cafeteria is not going to do much for kids.  The soda thing was a farce. I think, I don't know, that MAHA is about education, getting rid of harmful chemicals in food, getting rid of the abundance of processed foods. Not about the Government dictating the size of your soda, etc.
Did you vote for Trump for more regulation or less regulation?
I voted for Trump for many reasons. Less burdensome and unnecessary regulations is one reason. Common sense.

i do hope that Elon bends trumps ear enough that there’s a harder push for EVs even if it benefits Tesla. Bide’s balance of pushing EVs and still drilling and refining oil was the best balance for our current energy needs and a pursuit of a cleaner future. I assume that will be one of the few things he’ll continue, but of course he’ll take all the credit for it because he’s a weird insecure dude.

It’s also exposed how fake many of the Christians in this country truly are with no moral throughline from their faith to their every day actions and beliefs.

I’m hopeful that the country will more or less will be fine (I know I personally will be, but I also live my life knowing it’s not about me, ever), but I am positive there will be a lot of collateral damage, that many people will be ok with, probably because it doesn’t affect them directly.

I’d also like to know what regulations you find “burdensome”

like what couldn’t you do because of something Biden enacted.

I do think the next 4 years will expose the absolute depths of the galaxy brain of the average American.

And I know it’s a cliche at this point but we truly are living in Idiocracy. And it’s less an indictment of our political leaders, and more of our society and culture. The leaders we put up are just a reflection of us the voters.

As long as the WiFi works most Americans are fine ignoring what’s happening outside their bubble. I wish I didn’t actually give a shit about society. Life would be much easier.

But I get that too. Not everyone has the luxury to be fully engaged and on top of politics. and most feel in order to be the best person in the world, they need to make sure they themselves are taken care of. And I don't disagree with that. The problem is, its a thin line between main character syndrome and self care, especially when we live an attention economy driven by social media. And also there are people who feel like they aren't getting a fair shake economically and feel like voting for the other choice will help and I can't fault them for that.

But yeah, at the end of the day it appears this country's moral core is diseased. Its just wild to me that people feel like, their rent is too high or that they need a house and feel like the trade off of women dying, or some people who are hustling to make it in America, the greatest country to live and create opportunity for yourself is an acceptable trade off.

Ultimately I hope Democrats figure out a better strategy and messaging to bring these people back rather than things just being bad under Trump that they vote the other way again with no real plan to help them under Dem leadership (which has seemed to be the way things have been working for the past 10 years).

It also doesn't help that a solid contingent of Americans take absolute glee in spiting of others, either through policy (women, immigrants, lowest income Americans, the unhealthy and those with disabilities), or just schadenfreude (Harris voters).

Define climate change in the context of your question.  Harris/Biden executive orders, printing money, policies and laws signed certainly contributed to significant inflation.

Care in what way? Happy that they can’t get them or that it will be more difficult to acquire or Frustrated that it’s more difficult or impossible?

Totally agree... I blame social media for the misinformation. I refer to the people that believe that shit as ignorant since they could do the research themselves and don't.

I've said for years that we are going to have to curb our first amendment rights if we want to stop the sharing of disinformation.

Conservatives have also established a very successful propaganda arm with conservative media that promote their POV and sometimes push misinformation. IDK how Democrats can break through that.

I don't think we need to put 1A rights at stake. Its about conveying the proper message and policies to persuadable voters. While MSNBC isn't an arm of the DNC like Fox is to the RNC, it does skew liberal. But that isn't enough to get through. Ultimately its about creating policies that appeal to the working class (which should be a slam dunk seeing as Dems tend to push for a more robust social safety net) and promoting the hell out of them through every outlet imaginable. and then brining these policies to fruition once elected.

None of the above. I don't believe abortion should be used for birth control. That is about all for me on this subject.  Rather discuss the promise of a new Trump administration.  Good things are already happening. Signs of repairing the lack of leadership the past 4 years of Biden/Harris.

But thats more or less the POV I was expecting. Hypocrisy and barely giving a shit about peoples personal choice to say nothing of their fucking lives.

Questions like this don't really do any good. You want them to say yes and they want you to indicate whether it's human created. Where we've lost people is that stupid argument.

Climate change is clearly real and has always occurred throughout the history of the world, but it is also impacted/accelerated by human civilization and how we choose to live. The ability for people to deny this assessment means to lack the concern to admit we need to evolve in how we interact with the world or it will destroy us faster than expected. Whether or not human civilization can be saved by mitigating the effects of climate change is not the main point, it's whether we as an advanced life form choose to try and extend our existence through whatever means possible. Right now, a large percentage of people don't care to consider that future beyond their own because it would mean changing how they live now for little to no noticeable difference in their lifetime. At some point, we will be forced to take drastic action, but by then I suspect it will be too late.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Yep. Unfortunately some of us are voting so our kids and grandkids have a future that isn’t a burning hellscape and some want a few cents off their eggs. Trump will deliver neither.

95% of abortions were for birth control reasons...far cry from no one.

People need to be accountable for their actions.
