Pretty sure Trump supporters don't want to get into wasteful COVID spending...

I mean, if he knew about it and allowed it or looked the other way, then it’s an issue. But also those were wild times and it was more shoot first and ask questions later. And the system seems to be working by making people accountable.

My takeaway after reading that article is that Walz must be pretty friggin' clean if this is all they can dig up on him.

I don't get it. These people got caught. Whats the issue here?

it happened on his watch...therefore he knew exactly what was going on
And was receiving kickbacks. How else do you explain someone making less than $200K a year becoming the VP candidate of a major political party. Those kickbacks were funneled to Kamala through Obama, hence why Brandon and Obama don’t get along.
The kickbacks were used to buy tampons for the boys locker rooms and provide illegals in prison with gender-affirming surgery. I knew it!
All masterfully planned by Kamala with Hillary’s advice to bribe that segment of the electorate.

but this is a federal issue isnt it? I could see your point or theirs more easily if this was a state administered process.

If I'm getting the gist of it right....

The people who submitted the invoices and took the money have been charged.

The State scandal is with whomever was approving these egregious invoices and thus disbursing the funds. Gross incompetence? Malfeasance? Very bad either way but for different reasons. I assume that's what the Auditor was after?

Oh no. Not PPP. Way worse. Federal funding for a program that was supposed to feed elementary school kids during the pandemic. Oversight was supposed to be done by the Minnesota DOE. Those funds are what they were expensing against.

    But that's nitpicking.

Yes, as the person at the top, you share some responsibility in shit that happens on your watch, but how I view this is, these fuckers got caught and are getting charged. How many white collar crimes get overlooked, are pushed off the docket with backroom deals and end in no actual charges or consequences? I don't think dems are angels, but they aren't afraid to put a cap in their colleagues when they get caught. I just don't see that ever happening with the GOP. So yes, I'll take Walz over Vance or Trump 10x out of 10. It's not even close.
    It's a hopeless situation...

The problem and the thrust of the article is that not all of "these fuckers" have been held accountable. The Auditor feels like she's being stonewalled when it comes to figuring out what went wrong with the State's oversight.

I'm not saying that this would or should change a Dem partisan's Presidential vote but the lack of accountability and the same partisans' rush to brush it off reflects poorly on Democrats. If you're willing to allow grifters on your side to run roughshod over the system, why should anyone care about your bleating about Trump?

Walz didn’t fire anyone or hold them accountable is what the CNN story said. As Gov you aren’t going to see that shit everyday but you can definitely hold those people accountable when you do.

I’m fine with holding him or anyone accountable. It improves the system. I just find it disingenuous that THIS is the starting point. Not any other official. Not any other official running for office. Not any other official running for president. This guy. The one who’s the most liked in the polls. The guys who’s part of the ticket who’s ahead in the race. It’s just…curious, is all.

I’m just saying this isn’t the pump the breaks on this guy moment. This is the most anodyne story about any major candidate dropping in the past couple weeks.

But again, I get it. Blood in water.

It's because he's only been in the national spotlight for 6-8 weeks. Unless you live there, how dialed in are any of us on the State house in Nevada? Vermont? Louisiana? But now he's going to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency so more scrutiny comes with that.

Plus that was CNN not Fox.

Hmmmmmm isn't it curious how when someone accepts a VP nomination all of a sudden everyone wants to talk about their record.

There's nothing disingenuous about it. This is quite literally the process.

Talking about the record is expected. Focusing on stupid things as if they are significant isn't. The point was that this is clearly all they've got.

guess I would ask, wrongdoing aside, whats the regular  processes of auditing etc? doesn't seem, on the surface , to be out of the norm for shit to be discovered a couple years after the fact. we are only 2 yrs or so removed from lockdowns and programs meant to address that?
then begs the question of other states and wrongdoing there.

feels to me , being federal dollars, would federal oversight of administering fall to them?
