In my reassessing the situation, Kamala clear should have picked Pete.
if everyone voting were a reasonable non-bigot, yes, he'd be fantastic. but too many people would never vote a black woman and gay man.
    Agreed.

    Yeah, same here.
Pete's great, but we have to remember that this is America, and too many American's are still living in the past.  Walz appeals to the moderates more than Pete would, and Harris needs as many votes as possible or we'll end up....
I can't even write the rest.  :Horrors:

AZ, MI, NV, PA, WI all showing Harris up slightly--nothing new but supports her lead.

Also this stuff below is good (except for the indie thing)

The Stein advantage in NC isn't translating to Harris for some reason. Not sure I believe that she's tied with trump there.

Do these polls take into account the purge of voters from voter rolls, the long lines and invariable number of folks who walk away without voting and the effect of natural disasters on turnout and/or ability to vote? If they don’t, I wouldn’t trust them one iota.

No they don’t. And to your point, it’s more about measuring which way the wind blows as opposed to predicting the results. At the end of the day, all that matters is why happens on Election Day. I think people like getting a more general sense beyond their anecdotal observations.

I just don't see how there's that much difference between Mark Robinson & Donald Trump.

Nazism - Trump quotes Hitler, calls his political opponents vermin.
Porn - Trump slept with a porn star.
Violence - Trump routinely calls for violence against his political opponents.

This was an odd exchange for sure. Immediately after saying he's "focused on the future" he asks a question (a stupid one) about four years ago.

Vance did well. His strategy was clearly to poke at Harris instead of be a rabid dog. But I think he lost all he gained right here.
Someone I follow on twitter compared this to giving up a grand slam in the 9th after pitching a 2 hit shutout through 8.

All of the lies aside (that Walz should have done a better job of calling him out on), Vance did well acting like a normal politician, but you lose this debate if you cannot admit Trump lost in 2020. Also this will likely be the only real clip that stands out from last night.

I wonder if all the news about Vance performing better than Trump will eat at Trump's ego and force him into attending the next debate...

No, Harris has slipped the last few days in the betting markets from 57 to 54% on the dollar. It’s insane how close this election is considering everything trump has done and how competent the Harris campaign has been, last night may have been its first slip. Very mediocre Walz performance and let Vance look reasonable and likable. Did not make the obvious policy attacks for the majority of the debate.
I wouldn't say he "let" Vance look reasonable. Vance definitely took that approach which was the best decision his dumbass campaign has made so far.

then the following day, its business as usual....

This happened all over on the federal side as well...you blaming trump for that?

These funds were thrown out so quickly there was no way to monitor effectively. I had a client that had received at least $100K in PPP money and he had NO EMPLOYEES! He ignorantly reported his 1099 contractor payments as "Wages" on the application and went so far as to create his own 941 forms that back up the payroll. I don't believe he was doing the 941 fraudulently....I think he thought he was supposed to report the 1099 vendors on form 941 and just had no idea.

It was so bad under Ducey and Trump in Arizona, even my kid's daycare operator got in on it - bought himself a new Suburban, ATV, and hauler with his PPP money. Reported to the DOJ.

Yes of course I'm blaming Trump for that. PPP was an unmitigated disaster.

yes...the PPP money should have been paid back if the company sales didn't falter. They gave me $50K and I had the best year of my life up to that point. Just stupid money.

yep...the biggest one I saw was around $700K...a trucking company that had their best year ever.

Now how hard would it have been to foresee that? Why not have a caveat where if you ended up NOT having a decline in sales that you gave the money back?

And to boot...it was fucking tax free
