Yeah she'll be in front of the press soon enough. Unlike tRump they are putting together some tax policy that should be interesting. $25K downpayment assistance for first time homebuyers is fucking huge. $6K child credit for newborns, etc. Yes...it needs to pass Congress but if things go well that won't be a problem.

And look at tRumpy boy...since he stopped campaigning (either because he owes places money that won't book him again or because he doesn't want anyone to compare his crowds to Harris' ((most likely)) he does these fucked up "press conferences" that are about an hour of him bloviating, insulting the military, talking about fruit loops prices while he stands in front of his golf club, etc., and doing the exact opposite of what anyone in his campaign wants him to do.

Things are going very well for the anti-tRump crowd right now and it's about to get worse for him. 

It's beautiful to watch.

Honestly, there is not enough in that article to know if these are good ideas or bad ideas.  Or even just nice ideas but how they are paid for are bad ideas or good ideas.

I dislike the idea of giving $25,000 to people to buy homes....but prove to me it's good and works out in the end for more than just people taking $.

I'm not really a fan of child tax credits at all, but can be convinced of it if shown the why behind the decision, and most seem for it, so might be some ignorance on my part.  

The "price-gouging" item is either the best or worst idea.  Government manipulating the market so directly is a touchy place to be.

The "price gouging" stuff does float pretty close to socialism, I have to say.

Most people would use the newborn tax credit just to pay the damn hospital bill.

The american dream = $25K handouts to buy a house?   I know what you are saying re:buying a house...I do think incentivizing builders to build more "starter" homes...if done properly sounds like a good idea.  I am not certain we should be giving anyone $ to buy a house...I fear if they will maintain and will be able to keep it long term anyhow.  But having an inventory of housing at a lower price point is needed.  As well as managing the AirBnBs etc.

I think part of the child credit is to assist with being off work/child care, etc. There is a child care credit but it's a joke. People pay thousands for child care and get to use only $3,000 toward a credit that maxes out at $600.

Details on the $25K will be interesting. Previously it was more of a loan where the first time homebuyer would pay it back at $500/year. Then they did away with the payback part (those purchasing when the payback was required still had to pay) after a certain year....it's been several years.

But when that downpayment assistance is available it allows lenders to close loans that wouldn't normally be closed.
