Bourbon & Beyond is announcing their Neil replacement on Monday at Noon. Be interesting to see who and if it’s possible to be the same as Ohana.
The current rumor is Sting for B&B. He's in Detroit on the 18th and then Toronto on the 20th. Technically he could make it, but that also makes for 7 straight days of shows and some inconvenient travel.

I personally hope not - but stranger things..

Unrelated - And I sound silly for mentioning it..but the band/artist that replaces Neil doesn't necessarily have to have the same sound or vibe. Not to mention that from a wholistic career standpoint, Neil is pretty irreplaceable.

yeah I wouldn't have pulled the trigger on Ohana except for Uncle Neil. I'll still go and it will be great but Neil was kind of the catalyst for us. And Idles.

Yeah, i’ve seen that. It’s mostly based on the photo B&B posted with the announcement, it was a message in a whiskey bottle. I’d be shocked if it’s Sting, they’d have to be compensating him really well to add that to his already busy week, it would be making him to 8 shows in 9 days.
And yeah Neil does have a lot of vibes-seeing as these shows were supposed to be with Crazy Horse, that narrows his scope a little.

Sounds like he’ll be doing a lot of Police stuff this tour, and it’s a power trio. Could have been a lot worse!

He’s in Toronto the previous weekend and more (9/20- Wed, 25) with the next days in St Louis the 27th and Philly (Mon,30). Possible for Ohana Saturday, but sounds like crap travel for one date.

Sting is a fantastic musician.  If he plays at Ohana, that will likely entice my wife to cancel the Miramar air show plans and go watch Sting perform on Sat.  Hopefully we find out soon.  But that is a tough schedule, so likely won't be Sting.

Saw Sting once. 'Back to the Bass' tour. Lots of Police stuff. Not a huge fan. It was seriously awesome!

I didn't know Sting was in a band called "Last Exit".
An English jazz fusion band!?  That's awesome, hopefully he covers a Last Exit song.
But give us as many Police songs as possible :rock_on:

It's also a sign, because in the intro to the Pearl Jam song Last Exit, they are playing Jazz Odyssey.
Really hoping Sting can swing Ohana.

Last Exit were an English jazz fusion band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, in 1974. It is best remembered as the group Sting was in before finding stardom with The Police

Part of what got Sting to do B&B was also because he was supposed to play there in 2018 but the show got cancelled-by weather if i remember right. So it’s actually kind of fitting that since Neil can’t make it, Sting can makeup the appearance he was supposed to do a few years ago. So giving himself a tougher schedule makes a little more sense now that i know that. I wouldn’t think Ohana would have the same extra incentive, but who knows!

I'm not sure why some are not wanting Sting.  It doesn't make sense and The Police have classic songs.  I WOULD invest money in this if Sting did perform.

Sting's recent setlist has some great songs.  Those not wanting Sting, would you not like this setlist at all?

Sting was just a single comment made just like the other 50 mentions, nothing more than that. Its not like it was a leaked possibility. Just another act who will not be there. not a chance.

Sting is a treasure and a yoga master. He can handle a tough schedule. According to setlist FM he did 114 shows in 2024. Given his age, that is insane. That said, I am not sure his format translates well to a festival. It could be worse though, he is playing great police songs.

Take this for what it’s worth, as someone who neither likes nor dislikes Sting or the Police.  For NYCH fans, getting Sting instead is a little like getting Peter Gabriel instead of the Stones.

So, sure.  Book him.  He’s a legit headliner.  But I don’t have to be excited about it.

Sting was just a single comment made just like the other 50 mentions, nothing more than that. Its not like it was a leaked possibility. Just another act who will not be there. not a chance.
