I’d love for them to have any of these in this order:

-RATM
-Alice In Chains
-RHCP
-Dave Matthews Band
-No Doubt
-Weezer
-Cracker
-Green Day
-The Killers
-Kings Of Leon
-The Lemonheads
-Wilco
-Foo Fighters
-Bruce
-NIN
-Foster The People
-Sleater-Kinney

I’m sure I’m leaving off a ton of bands id like to see, but it’s a start.

If they really want to blow people’s minds, give Dua Lipa, Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan, Ice Cube, and even Taylor Swift a call haha.

Love your list.  Add my vote for DMB, Foo Fighters, RHCP, and NIN.  Anyone from your list would be amazing though.

DMB and Foo Fighters are playing festivals on the east coast that weekend and Green Day have a show that night in San Diego, so won’t be any of them unfortunately. Rage is done according to reports, so also very unlikely. AIC is off this year, BUT Cantrell finishes his tour in LA the week before, so you never know. Some of those others are possibilities!

Nothing will be close to reach the greatness of Neil sadly

True! Saw them at what ended up being the last show of the tour, and if any of them were sick already at Pine Knob it did not show other than the fact that it was a little shorter than what they had been playing the previous two weeks.

I wonder if Green Day could play Friday and move PJ to Sat/Sun since GD is just an hour away in San Diego on 9/28.

My initial thought was RHCP given Chad Smith has played with the Earthlings at Ohana before (I think...). That point on John is well taken, though. Bruce would be my bet. Doubt they move PJ to Saturday.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

He was the first one that came to mind, if we're trying to keep the same vibe as Neil & CH.

Most people don't know how good Jason is. He is the heir apparent to John Prine (from John's lips!), and can write americana as good as Bruce, or Bob.

We would treat them well on the beach🙌

If LDR is available, I could see a return. But ppl who bought Saturday are going to want something similar to Neil.

Only reason I put Miley out there as an idea, is she has rock cred😅she KILLED IT on stage with Def Leppard at the Taylor Hawkins tribute show.

Wilco, Isbell, or Stapleton would help the sting of losing Neil Horse... no one will replace the loss of a Neil Jam jam.

What is the deal with John F and breaking bread?
There are unresolved issues between John F. & Josh K. Josh was unceremoniously let go from the Peppers because John F. wanted to come back after a jam session with Flea.

Chad Smith remains cool with everyone, and Flea has had nothing but good things to say about Josh, albeit with some regret. Anthony has been tight-lipped on the whole thing, as has John F.

Josh has been doing his own thing, but has landed firmly as a touring member of PJ. He's proved himself 10 times over (with Ed & the Earthlings, and PJ), and the band is not going to do anything to make him uncomfortable, or be in a tough spot.

Booking or asking RHCP for Ohana (or any joint PJ venture) would do just that.

So, until more time has passed, or there's been some sort of summit (I tried shortening it with the aforementioned "breaking bread"), the 2 bands as their respective wholes remain quite separate.

Appreciate all of the feedback and suggestions. I didn’t know about the RHCP/Josh issues. Dang. If they want to keep the Neil vibe bring in Wilco. Speaking of breaking bread, bring in Son Volt too and let them go old-school Uncle Tupelo on us. Still, it stinks to lose Neil. Hope we get a true headliner, even if it means flipping to a No Doubt ticket or something similar.

No Doubt would be very cool also.  They are from the area.  I think it would be easier to find a headliner in general, vs trying to find a band that caters to Neil fans but can also fill a headliner slot.

Tough situation all around, but at least there’s some time to find someone. The festival in Ottawa Neil pulled out of is the week after next, and they got The Offspring in his place…

I don't really see Jack Johnson or Iggy as huge headliners. I'm sure they have been but on a Neil level. Coldplay or Chris can't because he's going to be at Global Citizens Festival that day. Unless he does what Usher did when he performed at GCF in the afternoon then took a flight to Vegas to play the IHeart Radio Festival the same day.
Brandi pretty much says yes to anything so that's probably the best option. If Post Malone wasn't headlining GCF that day maybe he would have been asked. Zach Bryan might be a possibility.

The biggest get would be Taylor. And she can do a stripped down version

The day has a country vibe already (hello, Turnpike Troubadors).

Miley, or Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit remain my top picks (unless John Fogerty wants to bless us with a set that could lead to Ed & Mike joining him for 'Fortunate Son'🙏)
