The Black Keys are rescheduling their tour and the Black Keys were supposed to play LA Forum that weekend and the Black Keys were supposed to play the cancelled Ohana Encore Weekend... I am thinking someone should at least call The Black Keys.

There are so many uninteresting choices in this thread.

But I imagine they will pick whatever "big enough" act that is available. It will have nothing to do with "being in the vein of NY", when has it ever for Festival bookings.

I wish for it to be a great magical surprise - like e.g. a Paul McCartney or a Joni Mitchell... and not The Black Keys or Sheryl Crowe

Two nights of Pearl Jam and one with Lana Del Rey would be a dream for me. Hope that doesn’t happen though because I’d be gutted to miss it.

Isbell still seems like the most logical choice to me. Ed and Mike are obviously fans and he’s played plenty of shows with Turnpike. They would probably wait until after his Hollywood Bowl show on 7/21 to announce it.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Isbell opened for Turnpike. Jason isn’t a headliner for this type festival either. I do still think Zach Bryan, Isbell, turnpike would be incredible.

Jason is definitely a headliner nowadays. There's no question about that.

Some festivals yes. Not this one. He would be great in the 2 spot. Him and Zach are both free that weekend.

I was thrilled to see Neil, Glen, and Cat Power originally announced for this night.

Since Neil is now out, most of the replacement suggestions here are dismal to me, with a few stellar exceptions (none of which are country acts.)
(At past Ohanas I loved Lukas Nelson & POTR, and Billy Strings, but found it Very difficult to sit through other country/country-adjacent acts).

I will have to trust Ed to give us the best available alternative.

Nine Inch Nails being one of the stellar non-country exceptions?  Truly a stellar live show.

I love the enthusiasm for NIN (an all-time fave for me too), but they are absolutely not going to play that Saturday. Ohana is not their vibe.

Whatever, whoever it is, is gonna have the same vibe as NYCH.

Just pouring some cold water on that🙃

I think you are putting a little bit too much stock in that, with them having to get something with 3 months to go. I think the net is wide about what kind of act to get.

I think acoustic NIN would help tone it down.

I don’t think NIN would be interested in a last minute gig which requires them “toning it down” though

And Trent and Eddie doesn’t have any known relationship? Or do they? Meaning, why would they help out and do a single gig like that

I'd be happy with Run The Jewels or Killer Mike solo, Prophets of Rage or Cypress Hill, Pharcyde or The Roots with De La Soul.

Love this out of the box thinking.  And surely the "fits the NYCH crowd" police will say no way.
But The Roots are very very good live.  And The Roots are known to back up many different artists as well.  I mean they could have Ed come out for some songs likely.  I love The Roots.
