biden, and democratic voters, are the only things standing in the way of trump and fascism. this is how it should be framed in every single ad. this is what the talking point should be.

You are the man, gimme.  I always love how you nail it right on.  Thank you!

that's exactly how biden should attack this. "this isn't about me. It's about Trump, and you. He makes it about himself and his grip on power. You can deny him that. You can take back the power and wield it as the people should"

unfortunately too many americans are too ignorant to grasp it like this. it is so simple and the choice could not be more clear.

I think the world agrees. I do here in UK . I also know UK and Europe see Biden as very incompetent sadly and I think the mistake by the party is not getting a young fresh rapid speaking individual in . It would have stopped the world media jumping on bidens ," whatever it's called" but here all the news is clips of him making no sense and forgetting what he is saying not just stuttering it's in kind and sad to see but also plays directly into trumps hands. And that's bad fot you and the whole world.
    It's all so sad

This is actually in a pretty nice neighborhood in a first-ring suburb of Minneapolis/St Paul, not far from my home.

I get what you’re saying though. A couple weeks ago, I was down along the MN/Iowa border and saw a few place like this. The one had 3 large, billboard sized Trump signs on the property. Another had at least 30-40 signs, both handmade and purchased in the yard. The roof of the house was half covered with blue tarps.

    +1

the only thing I would add is it feels like trump, Russia, and China against the us/democracy.

If the SC gives him immunity and he wins he’ll never leave the White House.

Throw me in the fire as well because I agree with you.  This is exactly how cults work.  I’ll make your life better is their selling point.

After Thursday night I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around four, if not more, years of trump.  It’s frightening.  Trump literally had to do nothing to intimidate Biden.

Are we a strong enough nation to revolt if trump moves to end our democracy?

    How many would fight?

they probably blame democrats for giving money that can help them to minorities and illegal immigrants and socialist social programs.

people like this have too much pride and waste their lives trying to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. meanwhile their biggest investment, their homes, become dilapidated and lose value. that tree would do them a favor if it fell over onto that house.

they wasted money they could have used for a new roof on all that sick trump merch to presumably own the libs.

i give them points for cutting the grass, but they need to mow their driveway too, look at all that shit growing from the cracks.

They would be living in a McMansion, only they gave all their money to Trump because he will make America great again and we will all live in castles (...made of sand... slip into the sea...eventually).

I would walk an extra mile or two or three (whatever it took) to avoid passing that house on my way home!

A cousin of mine, who I love dearly, works for a Republican congressman who is up for re-election. She shared one of his IG stories which asked for donations so he could "BEAT THE RADICAL LEFT". I couldn't help but laugh when I saw it. I sent her a laugh emoji. Didn't hear back lol.

This cousin's daughter just graduated from college, got a job as a finance coordinator w/the RNC, and is currently at the convention. And I'm going to see her and her mom and the rest of her family this Saturday, for a 1st birthday party that I can't really miss. I was dreading it before the events of this past weekend. Now, I'm seriously considering sending a gift and bailing on the party.

My sister in law plays in a band and supposedly said something like "if you don't like tRump then fuck you" at her show over the weekend. The crowd loved it because they are in Red Meat, OH but still. Her Dad hates tRump along with my wife (her sister) and I.

Ugh, that's no good. I don't envy you at all. Fortunately, although I'm close w/these cousins, we don't see each other often lol.

The mom has only been re-posting what her congressman has posted, not much else. But her husband has been posting about it non-stop, all the conspiracy shit and the fringe stuff.

I'm hoping they'll all be respectful enough to remember that the day is about the baby, but I don't think I'll be able to hold my tongue the moment they start spouting off.

And how do I explain to my other cousins, who I absolutely adore (I did a reading at their wedding) that I don't want to celebrate their daughter's 1st birthday because of the MAGA lunatics they invited?

You just have to hope that it doesn't come up.

I've learned to just ignore the little statements that seem to trigger political arguments. Last time we got together with my in laws everything was good and then my BIL said something like "yeah but now Biden wants to outlaw individually wrapped cheese slices" which had no relevance to anything we were discussing. I just let it go anymore.

I’d suggest at least a quick visit, maybe get there a little early, hopefully before the trumpers get all amped up. They are all psyched as they are expecting their man to rise to victory in the fall. Then run out if/when people start making derogatory comments. As far as an explanation,

“He purposefully tries to rip the country apart, by getting Americans to hate other Americans. Please don’t use his anger and to try to spread his hatred here.”

At this point I just walk away and laugh to myself later. If all of Trump’s transgressions haven’t dissuaded them nothing anyone can say now is going to.  They are a lost cause.  Just got to vote and hopefully never have to hear from Trump again after November

The party was incident-free and largely politics-free.

My younger cousin is now working for his campaign, and goes back and forth between Virginia and Mar-a-Lago. She has met him, his family, and others in his orbit.

I couldn’t be prouder of her, for landing a job on a presidential campaign 2 months after graduating college.

At the same time, it breaks my heart.

Nah, not at all man. Just having fun at Scruffys expense. This place generally is okay to sort through. There are just a few folks who like to troll and search for reaction. Respectful conversation and debate is not everyone's forte. Especially when they feel threatened (not in a physical literal sense).
