I went to one of the first U2 shows at Sphere and the concert was great, the audience sucked. Most people in the seats sit down. It was like a broadway show not like a rock concert. At first I thought there was no way Pearl Jam would ever play there, because they haven't been a huge "screen" visuals/production band... but Eddie went to 3 (I think?) U2 shows, and 2 Eras shows, and clearly loved it. After the U2 run is when Pearl Jam did their own super-visual Sphere-lite screen type stuff. As well as a more structured/predictable set list as of last year. So I've been predicting they'll play there in 2026. They could do it. And it could be cool without being overly cheesy or too computer animated cartoony, I think... just based on the subtle tasteful Dark Matter visuals. Think that, times 100.
And hopefully Pearl Jam fans wouldn't sit down until the last 4 songs of the encore.

You have a good point. It would be kinda crappy to know you missed these songs a certain night or whatever and that people would attempt to go to all however many shows over 3-4 weeks or whatever. There were still people who did that with U2 which blows my mind--tried to go to every show or two nights in a row getting out then getting back in the GA line as they walked out, $500 ticket a night, Vegas hotel prices on weekends, I guess they have a trust fund, I don't know.

I think the issue with this these days is that the tracks that didn't make a release were probably never actually finished as polished tracks like they were in the 90's when created for B sides etc, so most will remain demo's or recording studio cuts that were discarded when it was decided they wouldn't make the record. So in terms of releasable music that can be thrown together to create the b sides release version 2 there probably isnt a great deal of material in the finished format to throw out there.
I think a bit of mixing and mastering by a guy like Josh Evans (or B’OB) could turn a lot of that cache of “unpolished” songs into releasable tracks for a “Lost Dogs 2” compilation.
I gather from hearing demos of the past, a lot of songs stop at Ed. So, many of the demos are likely to only be instrumentals.

There's almost certainly enough completed vocals/music tracks recorded for a single Lost Dogs 2 album. A double I'm not so sure. But yeah there's a mass of instrumental only songs recorded by all accounts. I think when the band talk about there being "25 songs recorded" for albums these days I think a good chunk of those don't have vocals recorded.

In fairness, some folks may sit down at Sphere because they're experiencing vertigo from the steep pitch of the seats. (And no, I don't mean "uno, dos, tres, catorce" "Vertigo," although they may have been experiencing that, too.)
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Ha ha ha, yes! This was not that. I think this was more of "we paid so much for this ticket, I'm going to sit down." I gave up after two songs but mostly because there was a 12 year old kid behind me. I didn't want him to think all adults at concerts are jerks. My wife stood up to dance most of the show though. She was not having it. lol
This was like 90-95% of the crowd that wasn't on the 100 floor level. I was in 303 and the entire section was sitting down until MOST not all stood up for Streets Have No Name. It was honestly lame as fuck.
Pretty sure the hippies stood up for The Dead. Then again they want that Vertigo feeling. :)

To be far to those people sometimes you get something unexpected like Bono jumping into the crowd or Lady Gaga doing a mini-set or them playing 40. Still one should appreciate their experience rather than let FOMO take over. Those people lining up were wasting their time. I flew in day of, got a wristband at 12:30pm and was one person back dead center. Easy to get rail at either Edge's or Adam's  side. Also GA tickets were half that during the fan club sale. It would be great to PJ does eventually play there they do priority and limit tickets in the first run.

That's true. They made some very slight changes some nights during the middle acoustic section. The night we saw they played Pride after the terror attack in Israel, think it was the only time they played it, but they also cut out 1-2 songs I would have really liked to have heard (the set list was shorter than just about every other night). The floor area is so small, you're right about that! I was in a U2 facebook group and seeing people line up and do check ins every few hours for their coveted front row spot in front of Bono was pretty ridiculous, night after night, same people a lot of times.
That's right, GA tickets weren't as much. Ours were $265 towards the front of the 3rd level and it was the priciest show I've ever been to, but ended up being a bargain compared to the ticketmaster onsale, same section had seats for $700 and $900. We all know the drill on that now but in early 2023 it was semi confusing. lol
It was a once in a lifetime thing for me, especially because I don't usually go to $300-400-500-600 a pop concerts, but I'd go back for Pearl Jam.

I just sense that when Lost Dogs was released it was a fairly easy thing to throw together - we've got all these tracks that were left on the cutting room floor, or we've got the jeremy b sides etc....lets bang them on a compilation.

Given how everything has changed in how music is released there is no longer that ready to go, easy acess material to lump together into a release with little effort. It might even involve the band having to record or re record parts now, or add parts to finish music off so in that sense I dont see Lost Dogs 2 ever coming to fruition

I mean when you have tracks like Yellow Ledbetter just hanging around its one of the easiest things to ever decide to do, and I still have no idea why SOLAT didnt get included on that

They have quite a few popular songs that weren’t on Lost Dogs1…

    Breath
    SOLAT
    Leatherman
    Man of the Hour
    Long Road
    I Got ID
    Etc

    plus songs since then
    Of the Earth
    Get It Back
    Can’t Deny Me
    Cold Confession
    Let It Ride
    Ole
    etc

plus more. I would have though they could fill a couple of discs/LPs

Because SOLAT was earmarked for the greatest hits the following year, along with Breath, I Got Id & Man of the Hour

I'd say any second compilation of unreleased material is unlikely to feature any pre-ST material. Personally I'd love it to have leatherman, long road, etc but I think they'll ring fence it to material recorded since Lost Dogs.

I think at the first few U2 shows they were actually telling people to sit down because of the potential "vertigo".  Those stairs are pretty steep - especially in the 400 section.  I only went to one U2 show but as great as the visuals are the sound is just spectacular.   The other good thing is it really doesn't seem to matter where you sit in the stands - the 100's seem to be some of the least popular seats. We sat is the upper deck (400s) and had a great view.

Yep, I've always hated the cliche "There's not a bad seat in the house" but the Sphere might be the only venue I'd be willing to apply this to, other than the limited view seats in the back of the 100s sections, from like row 20 and back.

    Need Lost Dogs 2

In all fairness I'd only be interested in such a release if it was going to bring music that we hadnt heard before. Another compilation of tracks we have ready access to already would, for me, be non essential.

Such is how music is accessed these days and the wide availability of almost every track released a physical release of tunes already on tunes/spotify etc would be nothing but a playlist we can already create.

Those unreleased tracks however would be lovely......But as said previously I just really doubt there is enough of them finished sufficiently to actually release. I do hope I'm wrong but it always makes more sense to me that there more chance of the band reconvening to record the next studio album than to go over old tracks deemed not good enough to get them in a releasable form.

Already one year on from Dark Matter.......maybe we can hope they get the itch to get creative again soon and especially so given the form we found them in on DM

Largo in Los Angeles. 324 seats, and definitely not a bad seat in the house.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

if a place only has a few hundred seats, I’d hope there isn’t a bad spot
    That venue is special tho.
