Yep, I've always hated the cliche "There's not a bad seat in the house" but the Sphere might be the only venue I'd be willing to apply this to, other than the limited view seats in the back of the 100s sections, from like row 20 and back.bb4packers said:I think at the first few U2 shows they were actually telling people to sit down because of the potential "vertigo". Those stairs are pretty steep - especially in the 400 section. I only went to one U2 show but as great as the visuals are the sound is just spectacular. The other good thing is it really doesn't seem to matter where you sit in the stands - the 100's seem to be some of the least popular seats. We sat is the upper deck (400s) and had a great view. That venue is special tho.0

Man, Largo is such an incredible, only in LA kind of place. One of many things I miss about living there. Also lived in Albany but never saw a show at the Egg. I was a student and broke AF, tho I don't remember any shows when I lived there that I passed on. Probably missed something i would have gone to because no internet and didn't see it in the paper0

I think saying this time period fucked the band over is a little dramatic. If they wanted to tour they would've toured (COVID did mess that up in 2020/2021 but had nothing to do with 2018 and 2019). If they wanted to release that album they would have. They made decisions that were best for them considering everything they had in their lives and that's fine. Nobody got fucked over -- you included.
The time period from 2018-2023 really fucked the band (and all of us) over.
But they could have toured in 2019, especially if the 2018 album had happened. They chose not to because they were recording Gigaton.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0

Mike’s comments in the Gigaton announcement about a “long & difficult process” would strongly imply that it used or repurposed at least some of the 2018 forthcoming album material. I don’t think there’s a finished album scrapped in the can somewhere, I think it evolved into Gigatondrfox said:

They aren't even hitting the road for 10 weeks or so for the last announced tour
The only other thing we've gotten is a "rumor" for is the Sphere sometime which we know will be at least August at the earliest due to other Sphere shows
So even if there is a small North America leg for the fall or around the Sphere, those rumors probably wont even leak until late spring or early summer
Europe is completely out for 2025 and South America in all likelihood would have been announced by now
 We know they've begun writing/recording.
If we go 2020, 2024, 2026 with album release dates, that'd be a frequency not seen since Binaural through Avocado with three albums in six years.
Avocado through Lightning Bolt was three albums (plus a lot of PJ20 and side project stuff) in eight years.
The time period from 2018-2023 really fucked the band (and all of us) over. Here's what it MIGHT MAYBE have looked like:
2018: South America, Europe, Album Release...tour USA?
 2019: Tour the 2018 album.
 2020: Tour the 2018 album.
 2021: Break? Writing/recording?
 2022: Tour 2021/2022 album?
Instead, we ended up having 26 tour dates (27 planned) from the beginning of South America 2018 up until Sea Hear Now in 2021.
We basically had 6.5 shows per year...or about one every other month from 2018-2022.
 Indeed I do.
I'm saying if the 2018 album was released AND COVID never happened, things would have looked a lot different when it came to album releases and touring plans.
Instead, the reset button was pressed HARD on that album. It obviously didn't happen and 2019 was a year off which turned into 2020 and most of 2021 off.
Some time during 2018, they said "fuck it", axed the 2018 album and whatever they had begun to pre-plan for 2019, if they had anything at all other than a "we gotta be out on tour" mindset.
Go back to Eddie's comments at Fenway 2018 about not planning to do much touring over 2019. Gigaton was NOT delayed. It's probably much more fair to think of the 2018 album as something vastly different. Gigaton was probably written/recorded over the end of 2018 and into 2019. Whatever the hell was planned to be released in 2018...there's gotta be a good collection of lost dogs there.
If you take the shows from 2018 and averaged them out over 2019, 2020 and 2021, it basically turned into the equivalent of one show every other month.
(Yeah, I get a little rambling there with that 2018 stuff only because I like to play the "alternate universe" game at times.)
A birdie might have told me that there were other holdovers from 2018 that landed on Gigaton.
What was dropped? I can certainly imagine...Post edited by Lost In Ohio onPresidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0

There were some rumoured song titles out there on a reddit thread, but when i just did a search the page had been edited to remove their names and descriptions so i dont think the band and/or management want the titles shared. It doesnt sound like they had a whole album in the can but probably a fair few songs, with some making onto Gigaton.DM282158 said:
