Shut the fuck up, man. Look, if you are into the music and randomly "woo!" or scream out a lyric...I get it...in the moment the passion can take over.
Screaming out, "YOu are why we make babies" at a singer during a performance just proves you are there to make the concert about yourself. Again, stfu and control your impulses.
I was front row at a David Gray show at a small, indoor theater. I brought my friend, who gets up for work at 3am. So, she had been up all day, and it was nearing 11p. After the encore break, DG and the band came back out. And just as they were about to start playing again, I looked over at my friend. She looked absolutely beat. So, I leaned in and jokingly said, "Don't fall asleep now." Well, David somehow heard that and took it out of context. He turns and shoots me a dirty look and says into the mic quite tersely, "Okay then." because he thought I was implying that the show was boring. I was mortified.
I ended up getting a setlist after the show, and the next song was supposed to be Silver Lining. But they skipped it. To this day, I still wonder if it was because of me.
Yeah, I mean...a quick word with your partner or something, "OMG, I love this song."...Im not going to care.
Extended conversations about your workday....shut the fuck up. And thats what this guy was doing. Non-stop conversations, and he was drunk, so he was louder than he thought. And everyone around him was too intimidated to say anything. At one point, when a song ended, I just turned around and said, "Hey, they talking during songs needs to stop, please!". And I said it in a nice, smiley way. It stopped....for about 3-4 songs. He then went to get another drink, came back, missed his favorite song, and woooed. Then continued to talk to his GF/Wife/friend about their upcoming weekend plans, etc.

(or whatever his saying was).
What I dont like is someone trying to be a part of the concert. One time? Ok, I will even let you have that one....."WE LOVE YOU DAVID GRAY!!!!!" when they are getting their next instrument lined up.....fine. Have at it.
But when the SINGER is talking? Shut up and listen.
But seriously...DURING A SONG? All I ask is if you have to say something, whisper it to your partner. Extended conversations....SHUT THE FUCK UP!.Turn this anger into

I don't know where the Sphere guess (?) is coming from. I did not see any specific rumor about it, just a few fans' wishful thinking (and other fans pushing back on it).#Grievance20250

We know they've begun writing/recording.
If we go 2020, 2024, 2026 with album release dates, that'd be a frequency not seen since Binaural through Avocado with three albums in six years.
Avocado through Lightning Bolt was three albums (plus a lot of PJ20 and side project stuff) in eight years.
The time period from 2018-2023 really fucked the band (and all of us) over. Here's what it MIGHT MAYBE have looked like:
2018: South America, Europe, Album Release...tour USA?
2019: Tour the 2018 album.
2020: Tour the 2018 album.
2021: Break? Writing/recording?
2022: Tour 2021/2022 album?
Instead, we ended up having 26 tour dates (27 planned) from the beginning of South America 2018 up until Sea Hear Now in 2021.
We basically had 6.5 shows per year...or about one every other month from 2018-2022.Post edited by Lost In Ohio onPresidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Indeed I do.
I'm saying if the 2018 album was released AND COVID never happened, things would have looked a lot different when it came to album releases and touring plans.
Instead, the reset button was pressed HARD on that album. It obviously didn't happen and 2019 was a year off which turned into 2020 and most of 2021 off.
Some time during 2018, they said "fuck it", axed the 2018 album and whatever they had begun to pre-plan for 2019, if they had anything at all other than a "we gotta be out on tour" mindset.
Go back to Eddie's comments at Fenway 2018 about not planning to do much touring over 2019. Gigaton was NOT delayed. It's probably much more fair to think of the 2018 album as something vastly different. Gigaton was probably written/recorded over the end of 2018 and into 2019. Whatever the hell was planned to be released in 2018...there's gotta be a good collection of lost dogs there.
If you take the shows from 2018 and averaged them out over 2019, 2020 and 2021, it basically turned into the equivalent of one show every other month.
(Yeah, I get a little rambling there with that 2018 stuff only because I like to play the "alternate universe" game at times.)Post edited by Lost In Ohio onPresidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

1) Ed visited the sphere twice during the U2 residency.
2) At LV1, Ed polled the audience as to how many travelled to the show, and how many were locals. After the crowd responded, he looked toward somebody in the wings off to the side of the stage and said something to the effect of ’See, about 50-50. About half travelled for the show.’ Then he confirmed the band heard him by looking around the stage.
3) Later in the evening of LV1, Ed made a quick comment about being back next year.
4) The big screen behind the stage sure was Sphere-esque, the way they used it.

Interesting. I guess I missed that comment.
Tbh, not thrilled about either Vegas or the Sphere.#Grievance20250 -
Also, what would a Sphere residency entail? A few shows, like say five, over two weeks or spaced out more? Like one a week over a month?#Grievance20250

In fairness though, Toronto was also supposed to happen, so who knows?0 -
I do not like the Sphere rumor one bit and hope it doesn't happen. I'd rather have the short legs they're doing now. At least this way they get to more places and I get to discover new cities. Also the Sphere is gimmicky AF and out of character.

The Sphere is amazing. The visual are amazing and one thing, but it's also the best audio I've ever heard at a live venue. Rather then using sports complexes and trying to convert them to music venues, this thing is built for music. Pearl Jam would sound amazing in there.I do wonder about the economics. If you want to do visuals it probably costs significant cash to create them for that one of a kind screen. You probably need to play a solid amount of shows to make the revenue to cover that? Not sure if 5 covers something like that.0

Yeah, I'm eager to check out a Sphere show and would definitely jump on Pearl Jam0
