Stubhub stopped paying out Sellers before the event several years ago, I think it was mainly due to the 2020 Masters being cancelled due to COVID.  Sellers had been paid out, event cancelled, and then Stubhub couldn't claw back $$ from lots of Sellers who ghosted.

TM doesn't have that same risk with their own resell, but I bet their move to this is also to match their competition, in addition to the additional $ float they get mentioned above.

  • Definitely didn't get paid for my extra Baltimore last year until after the show. I thought that was always the policy?

No I sold Fenway tickets in September and got the money like 3 weeks before the show (a week or so after they sold).

Used to be a week at the most. That was only for PJ F2F tho.
All other concerts they waited until after the event. Honestly it probably was PJs influence to have payment be instant. And just like everything else with the ticketing process over the past few years, they gave way for Ticketmaster to take more and more control.

Thankfully these shows aren’t too far into the future so the pain of waiting for payment, while real, isn’t that long lasting.

SH and TM both started paying after the event when covid hit. But TM went back to paying after the sale towards the end of 2022. Now they've reversed course once again.

Well shit. Sounds like their way to prevent us from upgrading/reselling our way up front unless we have the extra capital to let sit for months. Score 1 more for the bots/TM.
I agree it could have this effect, but I don’t think that’s why they’re doing it.  It is probably a cash grab to get the interest on both the original purchase and the fan to fan purchase.  The average fan already cannot upgrade due to bots and TM cancelling accounts of people who refresh recurrently.
Yeah it’s being done across the board and not targeted to a specific artist. Theoretically it might slow down causal scalping from people looking to make a quick buck or from smaller outfits that don’t have the capital. It won’t do much against institutional scalping. But it’s mainly for the interest float.

Backstreet boys announced a July 2025 Vegas sphere residency. Pearl jam is probably going to jump on the bandwagon soon.

Damn those BSB visuals will be amazing though, they are recreating their millennium era😁

Believe it or not, Backstreet Boys had a number one album more recently than Pearl Jam (in 2019, versus 2013 for PJ).
I gather speed from you fucking with me.
