Pushed back another day. Still crickets from the 10c. But if you post something rumoring a song meaning and a band members life they lock the thread instantly. No accountability. Kind of fucked we are the ones paying for your mistakes...almost like Ed wrote a song about that.

You have the music, they sent you a download, remember you were happy about that? No one is stopping you from listening to the album. You just like to bitch and whine that your vinyl hasn’t shown up yet. It’s always been this way. But keep claiming it’s a racket, or a scam. I personally think it’s a scam racket for fucks sake.

Mine says Friday now. It's bouncing around the Chicagoland area and seems to be going further away from me. Mail innovations is just awful.
A couple of years ago I had a record visit seemingly every Chicago suburb USPS facility over the course of 30 days until it finally made it downstate. The informed delivery statuses took up a whole page. It finally took me asking my local post office to do an inquiry on it before it broke the tour of Chicago and started moving South.

Nobody is seriously claiming it's a scam, so I'll stop you right there. We have a right to be disappointed and upset since many of us ordered the vinyl back in mid feb. For instance : my shipment left the Seattle area on 4/17 and won't get to DC suburbs until Friday (9 days). I've had shoes shipped from Paris for about the same cost get here quicker. We know the 10c has good intentions, but I think recognizing that there are widespread problems with these items getting to their intended recipients in a TIMELY manner would go a long way.
Oh, also - sending us a digital DL mere hours before it's available on streaming platforms would have been great if the shipping delay was 1-2 days. And here's the REAL catch - the colored variants and RSD variant weren't announced until WELL after we all purchased the 10c variant. Now, knowing that we could have made our way to the local record store on Saturday and been spinning that afternoon....well that's kind of a kick in the dick. Not a good look ($ grab) if you want to be real cynical.....
At this point I'm expecting my vinyl to arrive sometime around the Fall of 2026 I don't know who's handling the logistics over at the 10club but they're not very good at their job Handing off to a 3rd party provider only to have that 3rd party provider hand off to UPS for final delivery is NOT exactly carbon friendly, nor does it make any logistical sense. I really don't know why I continue to make the same mistake of ordering from the 10club on every new album. I could've just gone to my local record store last week, and I'd have this lovely record on my turntable by now. Fool me once, Fool me twice....

No argument with the timing of the other variants, but they're certainly not the only band to pull this. Seems like it's becoming the industry norm. Announce a new album and take pre-orders, then announce "variant versions" and take MORE pre-orders. At least they didn't put an "exclusive" track on each variant with the insinuation that the only way to get it was to buy that version only to release a collected version a few days after the album. But yeah, it is totally capitalizing on the collectors in the fan base.

This. I don’t think the shipping is to get multiple purchases, I think it’s just disorganization. But I ABSOLUTELY think the staggered variant announcement was designed to sell multiples. I pre-ordered the 10C Variant at about 12:02am on 2/13, had a little remorse when I saw the NY Knicks-Mets variant but wasn’t willing to buy 2. But I’m certain the announcements were intended to make me buy both (or all 15 for that matter)

I just want to say that my 10 Club variant is coming thursday and I am ok with that. I have never had a 10 club release get to my house on release day so I know not to expect it! I am totally fine with it. I have spotify and bought a black pressing from my local record store.
I am kind of shocked so many people didn't realize releases have been like this for a long time.
It feels like people need to get a grip and enjoy it in another format or variant until the 10 club pressing gets here. I mean is this really a big deal?
For most people we only buy 1 copy.
Pre order generally means get it first not fuckin last. That's the point of pre order.
Not everyone has been buying vinyl for 20 years. This was my first and last thru 10c. They aren't even ashamed or embarrassed is the bigger issue. To charge exbornamt shipping costs and be fucking clueless is pathetic.
Fucking scam they just want us to buy more copies. Truly if there is so much a single flaw in this vinyl it will be a refund and ill pick up a copy at the store.

I don't like complaining, much better to just be happy.
This has not been a happy process. Yes, it was my first time pre-ordering a record through 10c. They should put a disclaimer that your record could be up to 1 week to a month late. I will keep saying its con job to get people to buy multiple records because that is exactly what it is until they acknowledge it. The sound of silence is deafening. You have nothing to prove that it isn't and I have nothing to prove that it is. It is largely hyperbole on my part as mentioned above but the reality of things is that perception is reality. Perception is different for everyone.

There are people who received their vinyl on Friday and Saturday. Could still be part of the scam though, I suppose. Sprinkle just enough "on-time" deliveries to make it look good, but hold back most of them. Devious!

As devious as charging excessive shipping fees only to send it via pigeon carrier speeds? Typically, you get what you pay for. At the current delivery speeds shipping costs should be about $5. Not sure how you don't see these as valid consumer complaints. Oh well - I still love the band and the music. Sorry you are upset people want to voice an opinion on something that didn't go as smoothly as it should have. I myself don't really have time to worry about other peoples grievances. This isn't Festivus.

Not upset at all. More just curious as to where these opinions come from.

!0c red and black marble came yesterday northern CT, Sounds fantastic
You're a bit further east than I am. I'm still waiting, tracking says delivery "estimated" for Saturday. Gotta say I'm disappointed. Wasn't expecting it day of release, but was figuring no later than the following Monday. Now I'm being told possibly Saturday, maybe later.....or maybe sooner. Hoping for sooner, but not holding my breath.

Mine no longer even gives cities, it just says “United States”. And I hasn’t even updated that since yesterday.
10C red/black marble copy just arrived (Chicago burbs) - great to have the vinyl experience with this album now; reading lyrics, scoping the artwork, etc. Sound quality is good, regardless of how it was produced/mixed/mastered. All good.
Ridiculous the 10c preorder still hasn’t arrived. I’m not in on the theory of trying to sell more copies but I doubt 10c gives a shit these are late knowing a bunch of people went and bought a copy because their preorder didn’t arrive. Again, a week late is absolutely ridiculous. Please be better 10c

My preorder vinyl from 10C has never been a week late. Definitely has not "always been like this"
Eagle has landed in NJ! Cannot wait for Seattle night 1 to start this journey which ends for me in Beantown! PJ best bring it. Go insane on stage. Mike I want the guitar slammed against the amps at points for crazy feedback sounds. Honor old school Kurt. Let’s Goooooooo!

It’s never been like this. Maybe I’ve just been lucky but my 10c preorder of vinyl has always been timely.
now mine here in northern VA is delayed until Friday. a week late. I don't think it's too much to say we probably deserve a mea culpa and explanation.
Yeah, there’s clearly something a miss here. It would just be nice for whatever that is to be communicated 🤷🏻♂️
I'm confused on what you expect 10 Club to say. "Sorry, US Postal Service kinda sucks!"
And yes, they could offer other shipping methods that might be faster, but do you think they'd be any less expensive?
I was referring more to the fact that CD’s seem to be making there way to the UK (where I’m based) ahead of the 10C vinyl. Made me think there may have been a delay to said vinyl for some reason.
But now they are landing on people’s doorsteps in the US I’m more hopeful.
Maybe the U.K. postal service hasn't been made to operate on a shoestring like the USPS, which is self-funded but has to get approval from Congress to raise rates, which it won't give even though it mandates that the USPS pre-fund billions of dollars in pension funds.
Oh it’s going that way don’t worry 😬😢

It's an art to live with pain, mix the light into grey...
It doesn't reek of greed. They're not Machiavellian. It reeks of disorganization and understaffing. I think they should have had a better plan to get these things out on time, and I'm annoyed that my CDs and LP didn't arrive until Monday, but it's not something sinister.
I'm curious about your reference to listening "properly on vinyl." What did you do for the roughly twenty years from 1990 to 2010 when almost no artists were releasing their albums on vinyl?
Are you new here? We have been buying records from this band from the very beginning. This is the artist that has been consistently releasing on vinyl through all of these years, and they should know exactly what they are doing by now. What happened with this pre-sale is a debacle and pretty offensive to the very people who have been their most loyal fans. As for those saying they didn't ship early because they might be worried about leaks, I find that offensive given the press and insider listening parties they had several weeks ago.
If they are not able to handle this properly then they shouldn't have taken our money months ago. It's 2024, this isn't exactly difficult work.
Oh and I live in NYC and still no record, tracking now says Thursday but who the fuck knows.
Am I new here? Are you kidding?
What part of "they should have done a better job," which I clearly expressed, are you unable to understand? The issue is about whether it was some sort of sinister plot to sell more records. It wasn't. They weren't rubbing their hands together as the pre-orders rolled in in February thinking, "These suckers think they're going to get this album by April 19. We'll show them, the fools!" Instead, stuff happened. Maybe one of the people on their small staff got sick or had a death in the family two or three weeks ago when this stuff was supposed to be processed. Maybe there was a manufacturing issue. Maybe the shipping company screwed up on the back end. No one here knows. It's totally reasonable to be annoyed about the delay-- I, too, was annoyed until I received my downloads on Thursday night that I burned to a CD-- but this is a small operation trying to get 50,000 items out the door to dozens of countries. It may not be difficult work in your eyes, but it's still a lot of work.
As has also been stated repeatedly, the shipping delays don't only affect vinyl. CDs and Blu-ray discs also were not delivered prior to the release date. It's not about shipping vinyl, unless you think they held back everything else until the vinyl was dealt with, which makes no sense since each format was shipped separately.
You seem to be offended by a lot of things, but you're wasting your energy if you're offended by people speculating as to the reasons why items were not shipped early (i.e., to prevent leaks). There is no actual evidence that this is why items did no go out sooner.
I'm referring to when you said this:
"I'm curious about your reference to listening "properly on vinyl." What did you do for the roughly twenty years from 1990 to 2010 when almost no artists were releasing their albums on vinyl?"
A lot of fans of this band have listened to new pj albums on vinyl first and we wanted the chance to do that for this release. And yeah, I think releasing a bunch of variants while shipping pre-orders late and through a slow service while charging a lot for shipping is lame. And I'm sorry but they have had order volumes for months, and they seemed to have no problem getting variants across the world for rsd. Seems like pre-orders were last priority.
I don't think speculating as to why makes any sense, and I'm not saying it was some whole scheme, but it's just not how they should treat their most loyal fans in my opinion.
The Ten Club does not handle distribution to retailers. That is the responsibility of UMG/Republic, the distributor. They have economies of scale, and they ship product to retailers every week. The Ten Club handles only orders that come in directly to it from consumers who belong to the Ten Club. There are likely one or two people charged with getting 20,000 items out in the mail to 20,000 different addresses around the world. The fact that the album reached retailers on time does not tell us anything about why Ten Club pre-orders are late.
With respect to the comment about listening "properly on vinyl," I am just curious about whether that person is one of the relatively few people who, like me, purchased every Pearl Jam title on vinyl upon its release from Vitalogy through Vault 10 (although, in my case, it wasn't because I think the listening experience is better on vinyl; I bought Vitalogy on vinyl because it meant I could hear it two weeks early, and then I liked having the artwork and liner notes in a larger size), or whether they are a latter-day convert to the cult of vinyl, because the reality is that the vast majority of Pearl Jam fans (and music fans in general) were not buying vinyl records from roughly 1990 through 2010, and yet somehow they were experiencing and enjoying music. Ten wasn't even released on vinyl in the U.S. in 1991, and there was no outcry from the millions of fans who embraced it in the first two years of its release. How do I know that relatively few people were buying Pearl Jam LPs during that time? Because I can see what Lost Dogs and Vault 3 sell for on Discogs. Those astronomical prices are due to scarcity, a scarcity which doesn't exist for titles like MTV Unplugged, which came out in 2019 after vinyl had proliferated. (Over 25,000 people have MTV Unplugged in their collections on Discogs; about 1,500 have Lost Dogs.)
It is definitely not an example of great customer service. Like I said, they should have had a better plan for dealing with this. Maybe they should have hired a temp to help get these orders out the door if it was going to be too much for Santos and whomever else he may have helping him (Santa's Little Helper's helper?).
Has anybody in Europe, who pre-ordered the 10C vinyl variant, had any news about the shipping? Mine still says "order information received" since the 3rd of April
Same here.
And same here. I've asked 10C for an update. They said all preorders have shipped and we'll receive shipping confirmation when the order has been scanned.

It's an art to live with pain, mix the light into grey...
