I don't have any specific hotel recommendations, but wanted to point out another option: The arena is right at a Skytrain station, so you could also look at other options along the train line if you're trying to keep costs down a bit.

Thank you for that suggestion. Will look into the Skytrain Station.

  • Lots of hotels near by, so many things in walking distance. Hampton Inn, Sandman, Georgian Court and Parq Marriott if you are feeling fancy and like casinos. ;)

Vancouver hotels have gotten crazy expensive, and it's only getting worse now that we've mostly banned AirBNB.

We often like to stay at the Rosedale on Robson as it's close, and was generally affordable.   It's old, and the beds are old, but it has a mini kitchenette, and a small living room to hang out in that has a hide-a-bed (bed in the couch).

We booked the family room which has a queen in one room, 2 singles in the other, and the pull out couch in the living room.   IT was something like 1600 after tax for 3 nights.

I booked an AirBNB a month ago in North Vancouver. It was affordable, and luckily it's not impacted by the AirBNB ban

if you can look towards the airport area in richmond.

also further down the main expo skytrain line you can find places under $200 a night (new westminster & surrey)

Staying at Blue Horizon in the Coal Harbour Neighbourhood. Safe to walk to and from the stadium? Would I be better off driving it?

Great feedback. Should be fantastic shows. First shows and a new album. Looking forward to hearing how they integrate the new album into the rest of the catalog.

After scouring Expedia extensively when the rumours started to come out I decided to go with the Georgian Court Hotel for my 4 nights in Van.  Cheap no.  Close to the venue yes.  I just wanted to be able to walk everywhere while I'm there.

Ya when the rumours started flying, my buddies and I got a VRBO ten mins. from the stadium. Vancouver is such a wicked city to walk around and explore.

Two things happened recently that made these Vancouver shows possible for me:

    1) Close friends moved from Arkansas to Vancouver and offered to let me stay with them; and

    2) I finally got a passport at age 48. It literally arrived in the mail a week ago.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

I booked the JW Parq Marriott -- crazy expensive, within walking distance it seems. So we will make a weekend vacation of it, I suppose.

So pumped for these shows! Getting 2 shows at home to start the tour is a perfect situation. Now hopefully the Canucks make a bit of a playoff run and the city will be electric!

It does, I think. I haven't looked through the website in detail but there are maps of the route on the road closures tab (under community) I did find some info about hotel deals on the site though, which might be worth looking into: https://bmovanmarathon.ca/hotels

Yes, marathon does shut down alot of the streets around Vancouver on the 5th
Also the seawall around Stanley Park will be shut down that day
I am probably running the Marathon that morning, despite the show the night before!

Super cool. I'm just newish at running. Gonna try a 10K next time!
  • I would buy any ticket from another fan - stay over night for us in GA etc.
That said, a number of years ago, a bunch of us just booked a four star on Priceline for cheap - I think it was $75. And we had a white bathrobe party in the lobby the night before!
Tons o fun. Try Priceline and low-ball it

    If it is this one..

It is a pretty good hotel. They've been doing a lot of renos the last few years and hopefully they touched some of the rooms cause they were a bit dated. Easy walk to Rogers Arena.

Would recommend as a place to stay.

I booked there just before the official announcement went out. not cheap, but better than some of the other options.
