    Anyone been ripping Bowman?
Rumor has it that the Jones bounty card will be pulled in a blaster. Take that with a grain of salt.

The Pearl cards in Hobby are a nice touch albeit rare as hell. I am watching a Rada on ebay right now.

I picked the Halos in two breaks and did good. Both yielded autos that I will sit on for a few years and see what happens.

    How've you done?

Same here. I've been joining breaks and got a Josue de Paula Green Grass auto /99 that I'll probably get graded. Other than that just some nice chrome 1sts and a Druw Jones Lunar refractor. Also have a couple break channels that I like to watch while having a drink or 2.

I’ve never collected these but there are some crazy variations that people pay huge money for.

🤣. That would fucking suck. Most of my old cards are in bad condition but luckily not as bad as that one.

We used to draw on common cards all the time.  Oscar Gamble we made him blowing a bubble.  I wish we still had those cards, lol.

Been picking up Ohtani stuff.  He's off to a killer start again so if the halos can't win with him I expect him to be traded by allstar break.

I've told the story here before but this reminded me of a Red's program that my teacher had Pete Rose sign for me. I was in third grade and broke my leg so badly that I was in a wheelchair for a while. She got me the autograph on the program which had a picture of Rose on the front swinging the bat. I got it home and wrote my stupid fucking name on the front cover in black marker. Third grade print...sloppy as hell.

I'm not sure what it would be worth now without my name on it. It is a great souvenir except for that.

Just buy another and have Rose sign it.  He is a willing signer these days, maybe even send it in to him for a few bucks and replace the old one, lol?

    Display that one proudly.

Question?  Does anyone ever get in the HOF for defense like ozzie did?  Omar Vizquel is most likely the only one I can think of that was that good at fielding and a missing bat presence.

I've been trading my Bowman hits for Ohtani and vintage as well

Pretty sweet! /how did you win it?

HoF for defense? Maybe a catcher?

Yeah I was gonna say Pudge but then I remembered he batted around .300 and had over 300 homers.

    This is a good question

I know his pitching did the talking but could you almost say Greg Maddux due to the 18 gold gloves?

Disclaimer: I know he was also a good hitter but that isn't what got him in the HOF haha

Maddux was too good a pitcher.  take away his GG and he would still be in.

Take away Ozzies GG's and you have  someone just above the Mendoza line for batting.

I don’t care for these but then you have some like this that are so damn cool.  Action Bronson did some neat Yankees ones.

    Cool card.

Was over at a friends house yesterday and he was keeping his dad's baseball memorabilia collection cause his parents are in a retirement home and have no room. His dad had like 100 binders of baseball cards from like the 50's till like about 5 years ago. They weren't graded or anything but looked to be in good condition. He also had like a totes worth of signed baseballs and about 20 bats signed. it was pretty impressive I must say.

Someone that has stuff like that needs a curator to go through them.  He probably is sitting on a goldmine and it will be sold off for pennies.

I offer to go through peoples stuff to teach them about things.  I always want to find that one special card for someone that didn't know.

    One day maybe.

Do you know what happened to the cards?

My friend knows they are worth money. The cards are at his place, his dad and mom are still alive. his dad still goes to a card store near him and tries to get the cards he needs to complete the sets. He has sheets of all the cards he needs and haves in the binders.

Cool.  I hear far too often about what people used to have.  Hell I wish we still had the blueprints to Yankee stadium.  Yes, we owned yankee stadium blueprints at one time...
