I know polls don’t mean much these days and particularly in hypotheticals or comparisons, unlike some posters, but since they were chicken littling 3.5 years out, I thought I’d share.

Trump trails Ocasio-Cortez, Sanders in favorability polling: Gallup

President Trump trails progressive stalwarts Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in favorability polling, according to a new survey conducted by Gallup

The poll, which was released Tuesday morning, found that among 14 prominent figures, Trump’s net favorable rating was negative 16 points, with 41 percent of respondents having a favorable view of the president and 57 percent saying the opposite. Another 2 percent had no opinion about Trump.

Ocasio-Cortez’s net favorability was negative 4 points, with 34 percent having a favorable view of her and 38 percent having an unfavorable one. About 28 percent had no opinion about her.

Former President Biden, whose public support while in office never recovered after dropping midway through his term, accumulated a negative 11 point favorable rating, placing him in the middle of the list. About 43 percent of U.S. adults had a favorable view of Biden, while 54 percent said the opposite. Another 3 percent had no opinion.

My first thought was actually, wow, people still like Trump more than AOC, but you seem to have the opposite view. He got a 41% favorability rating to her 34% even after everything. Who cares about the net rating when that little gem is in there. Also, even no longer present or publicly engaged Biden is barely rated better than Trump. Face it, a lot of people like him no matter how shitty he or his administration are. I don't think that poll is a positive in any way.
    It's a hopeless situation...

I find it amusing that after the crowing of a 1% lead JD Byryder had in hypotheticals 3.5 years out. The number of people with no opinion of AOC is also amusing with 28% having no opinion. 41% are his base 35% die hard and supposed indies, 6%, holding on for now.

Dems might as well concede. It’s over.

I asked someone before recently, but I cannot find that post...new forum/old user....makes it difficult!

Anyhow - I'd really like to know

    1) What are some of the things that the Democratic party are doing today that they should stop doing?
    2) What are some of the things that the Democratic party isn't doing today that they should start doing?
    3) When trying to win national elections, what issues/behaviors, etc of some of the more extreme liberals in the US (both online and in person) are hurting the Democratic party from winning big state and national elections?

I haven't voted for a single R since probably the election before the 2016 presidential election in any way (local, state, national)....I honestly thought back in 2016 that if people like me would vote against trump and the GOP during the MAGA takeover that it was a good sign that it wouldn't happen.  But it did.  So, in your opinion, what's the playbook to try and change this around?

    my opinion...wait it out

I feel like trump is such a cult like figure we are trapped until he is no longer relevant. That base will not leave him regardless of what disgusting behavior or criminal activity he is involved in.

It wouldn't hurt to fight back a bit. I love the idea of CA, NY, IL, etc., gerrymandering to offset the bullshit that TX is doing. Time to stop playing nice.
if texas redistricts now, blue states must do the same. trump says texas and the gop are "entitled" to 5 more gop seats in texas. if that is the case, the dems, as the minority party, are entitled to find 20 seats in blue states. hopefully california, MA, IL, NY, and a few others will redistrict because fuck the cheating gop.
I really hate Gerrymandering.  I do think it makes sense to revisit maps as people move about, but obviously when the people in power have the power to ensure they can keep power or get more power....
Absolutely. It stops being the Will of the people and becomes the revised rules of the rulers.

Electoral College needs to go too.

Sure, but that’s not the reality we have. It’s staying unless 75% of states want it gone. Just like AMT moderating, it ain’t happening.

The house is about worthless. Can’t pass any new laws and it has zero say on scotus nominees, and the minority never cares about investigations , just like Dems now ignore the sleepy Joe investigations. Anyone know that’s a thing if shecky didn’t post about it?

The important prize is the senate, and as usual Dems have no plan for getting back those three red state seats lost and holding four swing seats. If they do, all we hear about is TX and Epstein stories.

and next census House will have ten seats sent from NY and CA to red states, a direct result of dem policies failing which create high COL which is sending young voters to red states and red party.
All we “hear about is TX.” WTF? It just started last week and Epstein is a story of the COOTWH cult’s own making.

Stop trying to normalize shit that shouldn’t be normalized, like genocide.
Yeah I mean I live in Texas and potentially having my vote taken away by a rogue governor at the direction of Trump is a small thing compared to the biggest crime ever of Joe Biden and the Dems.
That's kind of where I'm at now. So what if trump molested women and children? Biden looked old and stammered sometimes.

It'd be laughable how dems act if it didn't cost the country for them being clueless idiots

It’s worth pointing out looking at things from a 2024 lens is different than through a 2025 one.
