I live in the US and our leadership is a total embarrassment.  I mean, great job getting Canada and Mexico to promise to do what they are fundamentally doing already.  Sure, he could have just had a normal person negotiation, but why do that when you can sink the market for a day?

first, I'd like to see the polling that person is referencing. Second, it's nearly impossible to have good messaging all the while fighting mis and disinformation at the same time. establishment dems are not the problem-it's the media who cater to the lowest common denominator instead of actual fact, and the general public who don't think critically.

I’d like to see the Dems walk away from it all. Let the mandate rain down and Repubs own it. Just resign enmass. Let them do what they want. Happy days will be here again if they do. Resistance is futile.

I don't know anything about this guy but it's time for Pelosi to retire. She was great but she needs to take the advice she gave Biden and bow out.

Do you think going away from the middle of the road Dems seems like a continuation of the demise?

Whether you argue it's real or not, the perception that dems were pushing pretty fringe things, in addition to the immigration issue, seemed to be large reasons they lost.  Though I haven't looked at the data so this is just my opinion I suppose.

Yes, cincy. We have gone way far left as a party, and it is precisely why we lost and will continue to lose. I am trying to get that into the skulls of the resident radicals, to no avail. It’s almost like when the trump radical right agenda took flight, Democrats thought the answer was to go even further radical in the opposite direction. That is where we are today,  left and right wing radicals all over the country. A normal American like myself has no party anymore.

I really don't know what the solution is. I think the Dems need a trumplike candidate to get people back.

Barry O would get elected every 4 years until he died if he was allowed to run. We don’t need a trumplike radical. We need a real candidate with a real message. Not a radical liberal. Good grief…

the left won't follow a candidate like trump. the demographics prove that. they need another once-in-a-lifetime candidate like Obama. you have people saying dems went too far left, but then if you go too far to the middle, the message is too homogenized and you get killed on being wishy washy.

it's likely not to matter much. dems will win in 2028 when people tire of the authoritarianism of trump's 4 years. the pendulum will swing HARD if there's any pendulum left to swing. haha

the way things are going, it's going to end up Stone Cold Steve Austin against the Undertaker for the undisputed Presidency of the world.

It’s almost like when the trump radical right agenda took flight, Democrats thought the answer was to go even further radical in the opposite direction. That is where we are today,  left and right wing radicals all over the country. A normal American like myself has no party anymore.
There’s little evidence of Biden being far left, and Harris was going to continue things as is. The perception didn’t align with reality.

I get your schtick in here is to troll if you think you see something outside of the center, but maybe you’d get more thoughtful replies if you posted about how the system is, or will be, effective in pushing against Trump’s move right and consolidation of power at the executive level.

Interested in people that identify more with the Dem party thoughts...
Yes, cincy. We have gone way far left as a party, and it is precisely why we lost and will continue to lose. I am trying to get that into the skulls of the resident radicals, to no avail. nothing in their history, short history, suggests they are interested in what you suggest.

    proof is in the posting.

I really don't know what the solution is. I think the Dems need a trumplike candidate to get people back.
Barry O would get elected every 4 years until he died if he was allowed to run. We don’t need a trumplike radical. We need a real candidate with a real message. Not a radical liberal. Good grief…
I don't really mean a radical. Just someone overly confident and brash. Too many people vote based on that. The message makes no difference.

Imagine a candidate that got right in trump's face and called him out for having fake hair, teeth, fat, orange, etc. That's what we need. Someone to embarrass him to his face on the world stage and not worry about the optics.
