So that festival releases the lineup Tuesday, has the band ever just announced a random festival without a whole tour? Sonic temple isn’t the biggest festival out there, you’d think that show would get announced with other dates. Are we really getting dates tomorrow or Tuesday? I don’t buy it. I hope I am wrong
They have discussed how they try to keep the environmental impact in mind when handling the logistics of touring. Doing a single show out in Ohio is absolutely not the most efficient use of resources.
I can almost promise you that they don’t pay a single thought to the environmental impact of playing a show when a festival offers a million dollar payday
I guess my thinking is if they’re gonna do one fest for a payday it’s going to be Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lolla, ACL, the big ones, those make sense.....sonic temple? A smaller, newer, 4 day fest...they gotta fill out the rest of that bill...I just don’t see them blowing their budget to make PJ do a one off show in Ohio. It just doesn’t make sense
It doesn't make sense.  But purely based on speculation and an image of Dirty Franks near the venue I went ahead and booked some non-refundable hotels.  All in on the only solid rumor we have.
I booked a hotel with free cancellation for Sonic Temple just in case. The hotels are booking up fast around there.

I doubt they’d do a festival in boston.  They seem to blow the roof off of their own shows there.

Apparently Boston calling wanted pj for 2020 before covid, but I was told they wanted too much money and they passed on them. I remember being told the dollar amount and it was significantly more than other bands. But it also didn’t fit well into their original touring schedule. so I’m sure they gave a hefty amount and would have made it work it if they were able to get the $.
can you feel this world with your heart and not your brain?
  • Boston Calling is 5 days after Taylor rocks Gillette.
  • TD Garden x2 has to happen. It’s been a bucket list for me to see them in Boston non-Fenway. Had my chance in 2010, and regret it every day.

The 2010 show was amazing.  The 2006 shows were also great.  I missed the 2004 shows there which bummed me out.  TD Garden would be ideal.

Was there not an issue with TD Gardens management and Pearl Jams crew? Thought I read that was why they did Worcester in 13.

That is not true. Id bet they buy carbon credits to offset the impact. And it is probably 2m.

I was at Night 2 in 2006 and the 2010 show at TD Garden. Two of my all time favorite PJ shows. Really hope the band returns to play there.

The 2016 shows at Fenway were great and it seemed like the band really celebrated the occasion of playing at such a historic venue. I enjoyed the 2018 Fenway shows as well but by then, the novelty of playing Fenway had worn off.
  • That run in 2010 to end the US backspacer tour…IMO…was PJ in their absolute prime. Bristow and Newark were snoozers (that newark setlist is insane though)….but from Cleveland > Buffalo > Hartford > Boston > MSG x2…insanity. Ed sounded amazing, crowds were wild, set lists were my favorite of any tour, and of course the last year of long hair Eddie.

to me it's like throwing all your recyclables in the trash and giving money to recycling efforts. But it's still something. unfortunately the guys have no other way of making a living. it's a lot more than 99% of bands do. probably a big reason they've upped the merch game in the last several years. can have the same income without all the travel.
new album "Cigarettes" out Spring 2025!

1-2 acts at most that I would like to see each day of that festival... & outside of the Flaming Lips & QOTSA none are bands that I would go out of my way to see in any other situation. (seen Foo enough times that I can take them or leave them depending on the scenario)

    Oh well.

    Bring on the ST announcement.
