Gonna look into this as well.  Thanks for the suggestion.  Unfortunately we're staying in Oakland for that whole week, so depending on the drive/direction, we may have to do it the day of Fresno.
    Come with the day after.
Would love to, but it's 5+ hours from OAK.  Where are you staying?  We're doing Joshua Tree on the drive from LA>PHX, so this would've been great if we hadn't decided to just get one place in OAK for the 9 day stretch from May 10 - 19.

I land at LAX closer to 11pm on the 15th so will be driving overnight to Fresno. Haven’t looked for a place yet but somewhere within a reasonable drive to/from the venue.

Gotcha. I think if we end up driving alone from OAK, we may grab a cheap hotel in Fresno, spend the night and hit Yosemite the next day, but if we drive with some friends who live in the Bay area, then that won't be an option. Def say hi if you see us at any of the shows!

    1. Pearl Jam is Dad Rock and not that popular anymore (doubtful)
    2. It's on a Monday night which for a lot of people is a school/work night (more likely)
    3. With 5 shows in the three largest population centers and a sixth in Sacramento, there's not much incentive for people who live in California to go to that show (most likely)
Well said.  I'm going to both Oakland shows that I've had tickets for (like many) since early 2020 and when they added a Sacramento show it was too hard to pass up a show a half hour from my house.  With those 3 already and Fresno not a short drive away I passed on the Fresno show.  That said, I bet the Fresno show is a great show for those who make it!

It's going to be crazy and I think maybe the most unique show of the tour. Fresno, for those who haven't been on the West Coast is VERY isolated in the state...geographically and I'd say culturally. I lived up and down CA for over a decade and never even came close to going there. Also consider that the Save-Mart Center is 16k capacity but they have blocked out all the seats to the side of and behind the stage...so maybe they're actually selling, what...12-13k? Now look at how many tickets have been sold...

If someone is willing to manually count them (LOL), I think maybe it's a few thousand people in that building as of now...should be wild! :)

For sure. If the damn flight prices would drop, I’d roll to it solo.

I think another interesting question would be why are they playing in Fresno? They do limited touring. Why not play Portland, Seattle, or somewhere else they could guarantee a sellout? It’s only been 19 years since they’ve  played Houston…

Fly to LA, then catch the 5/16 morning flight to Fresno on Alaska Airlines (which is less than $100). Still not super cheap, but cheaper than flying direct into Fresno.

Obviously not without risk (I'm not a huge fan of flying in the day of a show), but it's the only way I could justify the trip. Was about $500 cheaper than flying straight into Fresno.

If there was ONLY one day off after the Oakland shows I would consider it.

Though, I just looked and saw some great seats at Face value is making it tempting. But that would also add another 3 Nights of Hotel stay $$$

The band isn't just going to pick up and fly to a random city in the middle of the tour. I'm sure the promoter considers things like routing, demand (haven't played Fresno since 2000), venue availability. In this case, obviously the demand isn't there, but it's a day during the tour when the band and crew will get paid. The failure is on the part of LiveNation/TM, but demand is hard to gauge right now due to COVID (people want to do stuff) and inflation/gas (people are tightening up). The band and crew will get paid and the fans will get a killer show. I consider it a win!

Pretty excited about adding Yosemite into my trip.  I had no idea I was going to be close enough.  Hope I have enough energy after the Full Lost Dogs show the night before!!!!

That’s just how these guys are. In the words of a dear friend after a recent show…that’s why they’re our band.

I think the other one is Covid.

I'm flying to San Fran/Oakland from Canada.  You need a negative covid test to fly into the US.   If I test positive the day before I fly I'm fucked.  For a band that has a reputation for traveling fans, I think this issue is a dealbreaker for many.

Plus overall, I don't think concert attendance for most bands has returns to precovid demand.  Even people that don't have to cross borders are still nervous about big events.

I feel like some of these shows would of sold better pre-covid?

Still.. it's always been hard to gauge PJ's popularity because the tours are usually smallish, and many dates are often in big population centres where it should be hard to sell out shows (tossed in with 1 or 2 smaller market shows kind of thing).  I guess all those shows in the same state could be a litmus test for that, but it's hard to separate it from the impact covid is still having.

I'm going to ZZ Top/Cheap Trick tomorrow (figure I should see Cheap Trick before I can't).   When that show was put up for sale before covid I think 3/4 of the arena sold out pretty quick, and much of the rest slowly trickled.  They cancelled it, and now redid it, but it doesn't look like 1/3 has been sold.

I'm surprised it's not been called on lowticketsaleacitus.
