Ohana 2022?

Looks like the rescheduled date in 2021 was announced on June 12th and the encore was announced on July 19th.  Guessing the 2022 announcement would be late May / early June?

It looks like the 2020 Ohana announcement was made on March 9, 2020 and in 2019 it was announced on March 4. My guess is the announcement will come soon after the TM sale for the current PJ tour ends, so maybe mid April?

Probably after the west coast leg ends on May 20th.

Besides last year, they're typically announced in March.

I'd say hurry grab a room at the JW Marriott.... they about 5x'd their rates since the 2019 show.

My hotel told me last year that it’s the weekend before. Possible this is another encore, or did they just give me bad info?

Denver being Sep 22 was the real first hint I would say.

Id trust this volunteer flyer over someone at the hotel last year - the hotel is just guessing. but seriously the JW Marriott is around $1500 a night GTFO -- it used to be closer to $300 a night.

I have a reservation at a hotel for that weekend and the following one. I am hoping for something similar to last year with Ohana and then an Encore weekend, with PJ playing during the Encore weekend. Might not be likely, but I can hope!

I booked the following weekend at Best Western too—$377 a night plus tax. Shitty that I chose my vaca week based on that info but oh well

Pretty certain it’s the weekend of the 30th and encore the 7th based on information I got from a vendor that does various music festivals in the US.

nice! that would be great if they did another Encore. I've only done the main Ohana weekend, were there any differences in the festival/venue outside of the smaller lineups?

    edited March 2022
Glen Hansard just returned to Ireland and cancelled all touring abroad for the rest of the year. I don't know why. If the Earthlings were going to headline, that's a blow.

Hope all goes well for Glen. He is a great guy and puts on a great show, always.

Glen is an awesome musician and seems to be a great person. Hopefully it is not too serious.

I got an email from Festivals@headcount.org with the subject, "Festival Season is Here!"  Not even sure how I got on their mailing.  I opened it, saw Ohana listed, clicked on it, and saw this.  I'm guessing it's pretty legit.  Time to book a hotel!  I started going to Ohana in 2017 and I went to Ohana and Encore last year.  I don't remember, was it mentioned that encore will keep going?

glad I booked airbnb last week for this weekend. It had to be. Both ed and Stone are playing, so couldn't be the weekend before, Denver.

I expect 99% the earthlings to play. If Glen is still abroad, they can find a replacement. Although he is amazing for sure, someone else can fill the role for one night.

Heard rumors of Ohana and Encore both being scheduled again. if so, would it be fair to assume it would be the same, Eddie/Earthings first weekend, PJ encore?

Hope so. My schedule for 9/30 might have been thrown out of whack, so having an encore weekend with them playing would be really great.

Red Hot Chili Peppers gotta be back this year for it, right? Any rumours floating about?

I kinda doubt RHCP is there with all their stadium shows and having just played Ohana in 2019.
I think it’ll be Eddie, maybe Kings of Leon to make up for last year, and Green Day is at a lot of festivals this year.
I would have thought Foo Fighters may have also been in play prior to Taylor’s passing - they hit SoCal last year, on tour this year, lots of festivals.

Personally, I don’t see them going back to the well with PJ two years in a row especially with how many California shows PJ is doing.  I figured Ed would want that to be kind of a special attraction every five years or so.  Last year Ohana had the benefit of being the only PJ shows and Encore wasn’t close to selling out.  It’s expensive to travel to, it’ll be a shorter set, I don’t see people travelling to see Ohana this year for PJ with so many other options to see them.
