This is day 3. On a scale of 1-10, it’s a 2. Little stuffy and tired but that is it. Today is better than yesterday so I expect it’s almost over. Super weird dreams though.

Natural immunity provided better protection than vaccines for the Delta variant. Some didn't get the chance to get the vaccine before getting sick. If someone has had covid twice, I would be willing to bet their immunity is better than many of the people that are only vaccinated.

has halifax said, the key is "surviving". they are comparing those vaxxed vs those unvaxxed and had covid. Who in their right mind wants to take that chance?
I have no issue with people who have been infected and have natural immunity being exempt from vaccination for a time. But what is that time frame? I don't even understand, to be honest, how people who got their second shot more than 6 months ago can still be considered "fully vaccinated", when the science tells us without the booster, their immunity is very very low.

And if someone had COVID twice, that doesn't say a lot for the natural immunity they received from the first bout, does it?

The vaccine has never been declared 100% effective, even with the original variant for which it was designed. But you're the one that just made the statement. So let's compare apples to apples. For someone that has been vaccinated, boosted and yet get Omicron, do you think their forward immunity is worse than said person who had Covid twice?

mrna was 95% I believe for both.
j&j was 70% as I recall for the single shot.
at 6 months mrna dropped to about 50 to 60%
boostered ups it to 98%
it was seen as effective against delta too. not omicron.
its probable those vaxxed who got delta were at the lower end of the efficacy range depending on time of last shot to when to contracted delta
I seem to recall mrna prevented death 100%. against the virus it was designed for. that tidbit is critical when making any argument for or against.

"Bharat Biotech’s Covid-19 vaccine shows 100% efficacy in study"
none of that is what you initially said.
Biden told us that those that take the vaccine do not spread the disease to anyone else. He also said you're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.
Please tell me how this is not someone claiming the vaccine has 100% efficacy.

Do you realize you are posting either outdated information or preliminary results from trials? Do you realize initial comments on vaccine efficacy were based on shortened time windows, like three to six months, because they were rushing the vaccine development?
the bottom line per the CDC, is you are twenty times more likely to die or be hospitalized if you are not vaccinated. How is that not the most relevant fact regarding vaccine efficacy, especially since you quoted the CDC earlier ?

I provided information. This twig is still holding me up.
What I'm saying is that politicians bloviate and use hyperbole. No published paper from the CDC or any of the manufacturers ever said the vaccine was 100% effective in preventing illness in adults. Never was that published. The people here get our information from the sources, not by watching politicians, CNN, Fox News, etc. This is why everyone jumped on you when you said we were told they were 100%. Because well before Biden ever went off the reservation, we all knew from earlier testing that it was never 100%. At best, it was in the low 90s. The numbers that were quoted above are the numbers all of us here have used and repeated for the last 10 plus months.
But again, we keep going round and round and round week after week on the same points. So the question is.. WTF IS YOUR POINT? Are you trying to argue that vaccines are completely ineffective? Are you arguing that they are less effective now agains Omicron than Delta and before? Are you arguing that if something isn't 100% it might as well be 0%? What is your point this late in the pandemic?

I have no issue with people who have been infected and have natural immunity being exempt from vaccination for a time. But what is that time frame? I don't even understand, to be honest, how people who got their second shot more than 6 months ago can still be considered "fully vaccinated", when the science tells us without the booster, their immunity is very very low.

And if someone had COVID twice, that doesn't say a lot for the natural immunity they received from the first bout, does it?

Now you say you aren't a doctor so you don't know... but two posts ago you made a statement that you were willing to bet on. Did you just lose your license to practice medicine in the last 20 minutes?

** quote gone wrong.
the bottom line per the CDC, is you are twenty times more likely to die or be hospitalized if you are not vaccinated. How is that not the most relevant fact regarding vaccine efficacy, especially since you quoted the CDC earlier ?
