My husband use to think Elton John's Tiny Dancer was "Tony Danza"...That's a scary thought unless you are Angela and Mona.

Whenever we hear it we sing loudly and proudly "Hold me closer Tony Danza"!

When I first heard Life Wasted I thought he sang "Death came around for the weary song." When I looked up the lyrics I felt like a dumbass!!!
    "Darth Vader would say 'Impressive'."

The pelican one got me too. :D I think there are a few others but I have to remember them.

Back in the 80s I remember this song used to come on by a band called cutting crew which went "woah, I just died in your arms tonight, must have been something you said."

I always used to think he said "I ate" at the end instead, lol

    Jeremy spoke in class today...

    I used to hear:

    Generally spoken, that's me...
"this one, anytime I say love if you wanna say love, uh, say it, and if you say it you might as well say it loud, and if you don't feel like sayin' it, don't say it, but if you feel it, certainly say it..."

NOTE: Everything I write in the P,P&M section are intended to be songs, not poetry.

    Actual lyrics (for background)

in rvm, instead of 'saw things', i keep hearing 'sophie! sophie!', oh, yes, i sang those words too, not even thinking about how little sense it makes

I read the following in a similar thread a few months ago, and now this is what I hear instead of the real lyrics. In Go I hear:
"Turned to my mrs, I pulled out my fucking cock."

    instead of
"Turned to my nemesis, a fool, not a fucking god."

There are others, but none quite as funny as that.

That has got to be the funniest one so far!!

I always get the line in cropduster wrong - "I thought the world, turns out the world thought me". I always hear "fought" instead. It always makes me picture a little eddie boxing against a blue and green globe of the planet lol.

I hear that in Cropduster too.

For me, Vitalogy had the most misheard lyrics before looking them up. Examples:

    Last Exit
Actual - "Lives opened and trashed, 'look ma watch me crash'."
Me - "Life's an open chest, let my words be crass."

    Not For You
Actual - "Small my table ... stormed my room."
Me - "Starlight table ... stoned my room."

    Corduroy
Actual - "Everything has chains, absolutely nothing's changed. Take my hand, not my picture, spilled my tincture."
Me - "Everything has changed, absolutely nothing's changed. Take my hand, not my picture, spelled my t-shirt."

    Satan's Bed
Actual - "Get some flesh to stick, so they look like us."
Me - "Get some place to stay, so they live like us."

yeah, that'd be Nothingman and Betterman, hon, thx.
Ahahahahhaa good one :D Isn't it something...muffiiinman xD
I was sure for all of my misheard, 'till I read the lyrics. Actually, my nickname has something to do with them too. In rearview mirror, when Ed sings: "saw things" I thought it was "sun beams". Would have liked it more actually x)
From the same song, there's "united by fear," which I understood as "95 feet up."
Then there was "off he goes with his perfectly unkept hope," which I read in one of the not-so-good lyrics on the net, and thought that on the record, it didn't sound like that.
    EDIT: Corduroy
Actual - "Everything has chains, absolutely nothing's changed. Take my hand, not my picture, spilled my tincture."
Me - "Everything has changed, absolutely nothing's changed. Take my hand, not my picture, spilled my teacher."

Has someone realized that PJ are making fun of their own betterman lyrics?
See the vitalogy album: It`s written on the side: "Can't find the butter, man".

And also at the very end: "Can't find a Peli___"
    Is this the pelican again?
