- case counts are “grossly underestimated and are likely 3 to 10 times under reported. Omicron is everywhere
- hospital numbers are going up, but most COVID positive are incidental findings as they were tested coming in with something else
- most of these are double or triple vaxxed
- ICU still predominantly unvaxxed and are in for COVID
- vax primary thing is to prevent severe disease not from getting COVID at all
- we will need new vaccines moving forward as this evolves. We’re using what we have because we have it and there’s no time to pivot with Omicron
- there will hopefully be some level of natural immunity after Omicron is done that is good
- Ontario data showing Omicron is in fact less severe (<50% hospital fatalities as compared to Delta). South Africa data not comparable to here so good to have Ontario data
- Kingston may be tapering off - they are week ahead so good sign for us but not confirmed
- goal is to mitigate healthcare system from shutting down with staff getting Omicron and to protect vulnerable from dying
- think they may pivot in testing on those who need yo know (healthcare workers etc) and have everyone else stay home and isolate, but this is just guess
- cold = Omicron highly likely
- The horse has left the barn. No amount of testing can keep up with Omicron. And it’s impossible to contact traceF8

Thanks for both the tour and COVID updates, especially from Ontario!
Think we get all new posters for the rescheduled shows?
Yes, definitely

the worldwide web scuttlebutt for Bonnarrrrrroooo headliners are Tool, Dixie Chicks and J Cole, so any traction for PJ to headline again isn't happening at this point (if we go by Festival Owl chatter on Twitter).

Doubt they would come straight back from Europe and play Lolla days later. Might want a couple weeks off.
Yeah and after a quick US run before Europe, I don’t see it happening. You’d think if the band had the choice they will choose Wrigley over Lolla any day. Only way is if Wrigley was booked up already

Also depends how much money they are set to make from each. If Lolla happens to be a bigger pay day...

I agree with you, but you need to make a different argument. Lolla is also 100% outdoors, so no different than Wrigley. Lolla may be even 'more' outdoors because of the Wrigley concourses.
I'm pretty sure they would make more money at Wrigley, especially a 2-night run with all posters and merch. Lolla is much less merch money.
I’d take lolla over wrigley this go around. My kids are at the age where they do all 4 days and I’d love to buy a single day ticket for PJ and try to get a family day going for sure. The other days at lolla I would be out.

I respect that. Lolla isn't an experience that I personally enjoy, but sharing common ground with one's family is priceless.

Lolla is general admission so people will be on top of each other all day long. Not quite as cramped for as long of time as ballpark shows with assigned seating.
Lolla would be 15 year anniversary of their 2007 appearance. I could see it and would definitely prefer Lolla (plus a Metro aftershow) over Wrigley again.

I know forecast doesn't look great, but keeping my glass half full. Chances the delayed announcement to this month coincides with some of the US festival line up announcements (Jazz Fest, ACL, etc.) Realize it is a long shot.
