Agree. Hamilton and Toronto are 45 minutes apart. I can't envision a scenario in which they'd start the tour in Canada, drop down to the U.S., come back to Canada, go back to the U.S., and come back to Canada again. I can't imagine them doing that during "normal" times, let alone now.

I guess it could be a result of the Leafs looking to be in playoff contention? If you assume this starts sometime in May and would wrap up in early June for the band to get to Europe, it could be a later round of the playoffs, when either the Leafs will have pulled a Leafs and be done, or they'll still be playing, but there's a little more leeway in the scheduling. Even in that scenario, though, I still don't know why you wouldn't package them together.

  • The only reason they’d split close by cities is if there’s a ton of refunds and they’re worried about selling out two shows close in geography and time.

So speaking of spicy what cities that have not been hit in awhile would you love to see get the arena show treatment this spring/fall?
    Louisville!
    I agree.
PJ management have said twice that they’re never playing Louisville because they don’t like the ticketing practices of the arena.

Nice find. Would be insane if PJ bumped Bieber but highly unlikely.

Well crap. It is only a 2 hour drive from us. It is the closest of the “big cities “ to us. St Louis is 3 hours, Indy is 2.5, Nashville is 4 and Chicago is 4.5. Champaign is 2.5 hours, so maybe they could play there again.

What do they do differently? I can’t imagine it could be worse than TM for the Earthings tour.

Maybe it’s not a Live Nation venue?

Good thread on Louisville and why it likely won’t get a show.

One thought I’ve had regarding this tour….

Will this be the year where the setlist variability starts to decrease?  I don’t think they’ll do 30+ song nights regularly anymore.  The sets are all going to be Gigaton heavy.  Between that, the 5-7 hits they play every night, plus the inevitable covers and Earthling songs that’ll find their way onto the setlist, how much variety can we expect?
I was thinking about this too. Especially seeing how static these Earthling shows have been (including Dirty Frank). Plus the SHN and Ohana sets weren't remarkably different, granted festival sets. With that said - Ed was talking about PJ's setlists on Smartless and he seems very aware that a number of people catch half a dozen+ shows on tour because of the variety of experience. I would expect sets to be Gigaton heavy but still quite unique and yes probably fewer 30+ marathons
I seriously doubt that there will be any Earthling songs on the PJ setlists.  Maybe in a few years, but not now.
I agree. Not too many of these songs I’d want to replace with a PJ song during a show. Not that I dislike the album, maybe PJ playing it would make me like it more

Not trying to drag the thread down but interesting reading the fan views who felt like Josh’s absence made a significant impact from Chicago N1 to N2 on quality of songs and setlist.

They’ve probably got really, really good seats that go to University of Louisville season ticket holders that they don’t wanna give to 10c. I’ve got a friend who’s a Predators season ticket holder and he gets 10th row to any concert at the arena. When PJ announced the Nashville show the best he could get was upper deck behind the stage.

Considering there is no positive options on your magic 8 ball, I'd say that's a hard no haha.

Ed’s comment of “see you in the summer” at the end of his second Chicago show makes me think it’s Wrigley again. Always seemed likely but now it feels like a certainty. If the UC was the plan, as originally thought for the second leg of 2020, we’d expect that to be a Fall show. I really hope UC doesn’t get the axe. Wrigley is fun but getting repetitive.
