2022 North American rumour thread take 2

I would expect sets to be Gigaton heavy but still quite unique and yes probably fewer 30+ marathons

I feel like they've never been all about the new album at shows (though, granted, the last time I saw them immediately after an album release was in 2006). I feel like over the course of 4 or 5 shows, you might hear most of the newest album, but with few repeats. I could be entirely wrong.

I seriously doubt that there will be any Earthling songs on the PJ setlists.  Maybe in a few years, but not now.

While that would be disappointing, that is only a risk for the 2022 shows most likely as this thing dies.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Klinghoffer kind of “stays prepared” as a sixth man on the bench, ready to step in for anyone except for Ed or Matt in the event someone tests positive.  

If that’s what it takes to get some shows in 2022 as Covid winds down, then fine, even if it would be somewhat disappointing

Based on Ohana and Sea Hear Now, I was kind of expecting Klinghofer to be part of the PJ touring band (at least for the upcoming tour) anyway.  Maybe Andrew Watt and the bass player will travel with PJ also and fill in if needed.  Chad Smith probably won't be available but they could probably find a replacement if needed.......they've never had an issue finding a drummer in the past.

So - couple new developments today in my personal PJ quest for show dates...
Not sure who else looks at the TM site daily - but I watch - and the order here changed today:

AND more importantly - Viejas added commencement dates to their calendar - which I'm pretty sure means the SD show won't be 5/13-5/15 which is cool with me as I have plans to attend Cruel World that weekend:

Josh joining the tour will help provide a fill-in for guitar if Mike or Stone catch it.  They may have someone on reserve for drums and bass.  

Eddie is the only truly irreplaceable one in the group.

I doubt they will rehearse a 100 different songs this tour.

I don't see any reason to think that Earthling songs will be included in PJ sets. Setting Forth is the only EV solo song I can think of that got regular play (and wasn't on a PJ album)

I don't think we'll see 30+ songs regularly, but it will happen from time to time. I'd say they'll average 25-27 and probably 5-6 Gigaton songs per night. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I do hope some forgotten songs from the Binaural/Riot Act era get some more play.

Josh can play drums too, he played on a bunch of John Frusciante's solo albums and live with PJ Harvey on some songs when he toured with her in 2004 (mainly played guitar though).

Josh better learn rhythm, lead, and drums for all of PJs catalog!

I definitely see Covid throwing a wrench in setlist variety. Easier to keep a 90% standard set if you don’t know who will be going on that night (Josh was pulled at 7pm last night).

I could see PJ keeping Drive in the set. Not sure about the rest of the Earthings tour songs except maybe some of the covers.

Maybe its been brought up already, but no one had any idea until last night that Ed had dealt with Covid. We're kinda assuming that he was the only member of PJ to have gotten it. For all we know, everyone in PJ has already had it.

What changed about the order?  I haven't looked at it before to know.  I notice that the US shows are split with EU in the middle - is that an indication of the US spring versus fall locations?  Or was it already displayed like that
