Not so much a politician as a performance artist -- a very bad one..
Hit the nail on the head! Unfortunately, her fans/audience/followers take her seriously enough that I won't be surprised if one or more of them take her up on her suggestion and blast away at some poor government worker. A lot of her Greene-goo lackeys don't know that there is a big difference between a politician and an everyday government employee. And their paranoia (in the truest, most accurate sense of the word) is off the wall.
I was recently talking with a friend who has been in the medical field a long time. She told me about a woman she saw in the health care facility she works in who didn't want the vaccination but got it anyway and afterward insisted on them bringing her a magnet to put up to her arm so she could be sure they weren't implanting micro chips in her arm. Good grief!

Anyone else here in favour of mandatory vaccines? It's clear there's some kinds of stupid which aren't likely cured by education.
I’m not entirely sure the government can mandate people taking something whether they want it or not. In a sense, it’s like the abortion mantra (one which I support, btw): my body, my choice.

at least we have the social media and internet forums these days. this way at least future historians cannot glaze over or minimize how bad things really are in these times. they will have receipts.
and they had best be brutally honest and unmerciful about it, so future generations will know how bad the division is.

Preliminary information suggests that the covid infection rate has been extremely low within the Olympic "bubble" and that, by and large, the measures taken around quarantine, masking, and testing have been effective. No evidence at this point that cases have transferred from the "bubble" to the city's population. Those monitoring give partial credit to the high level of vaccination among athletes and crew, which apparently is around 70% - I would have thought it would be higher, actually.

Featuring more than 50,000 people, what amounted to possibly the largest global experiment of this kind since the pandemic began, appears to have largely worked, organisers and some scientists say, with only a sliver of those involved infected.
"Before the Olympics, I thought people would come to Japan with many variants and Tokyo would be a melting pot of viruses and some new variant would emerge in Tokyo," Kei Sato, a senior researcher at the University of Tokyo said.
"But there was no chance for the viruses to mutate."
The main reason for the low number of infections was a vaccination rate of more than 70% among the Olympians, organisers and the news media, daily testing, social distancing and a bar on domestic and international spectators, organisers say.
