fun day at the office for my "congressman".. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0htMvl2Cuec
So what drives me nuts about this and the Brooklyn one (Chang) both Repubs won the election and the Dems want to vet them AFTER they lose?  Should have done that shit beforehand.

Chang should be fine but Santos most likely won't have anyone to work with him so he will have to step down.

Santos will get us the bail reform we need to keep us safe!

Do you know who changed votes?  That's really interesting.
3 R's changed their vote to Jefferies?
No, Jeffries got all 212 dem votes each time. Jordan went from 19 to 20 votes on the third round.
I saw only 209 the first vote.
It was 212. Dems wouldn't vote for Mccarthy...

Yep, Dems unified behind Jeffries. As minority party that should be relatively easy

Hilarious....I know it won't happen but it sure would be awesome if 6 GOP moved to the left and elected Jeffries

They wrongly just assumed they'd win that seat so didn't bother spending time and resources on Santos.

Media is equally at fault too.
You can point at EVERYONE, lol.

Our little ch12 news here on Long Island did a piece on him stating that usually when someone runs they are being greeted by constituents or and/or voters.  This didn't happen when they interviewed him.  The guy was a ghost.

Very weird, but hey, you want to cry now?  Do your jobs and vet first.

Well Chang might not be alright.  The dems are moving to unseat him as their investigation revealed he didn't live in Brooklyn for a year.  Did they run his CC and Uber eats records, lol?

I know. I thought maybe some of them voted present. I know the number I saw, but maybe the vote wasn't through yet,but it was up there a long time. Or CNN had the wrong graphic. I don't know.

I think there might have been folks who weren’t in the chamber or didn’t hear their name called on the first go around because I saw that as well on CSPAN. Then on the second or third round they tallied the votes and were like 4 short and called those names and they voiced their vote and were recorded.

They wouldn't do that because it would lower McCarthy's threshold he needs to win. CNN probably screwed up the graphic.

he was the only GOP to switch his vote yesterday....no votes for him yet. I was hoping there was going to be some sort of mass revolt where he would get more votes

It is interesting that the Democrats could bail him out by just having a handful of representatives skip or abstain from the vote.  I wonder what concessions they could extract?

I would support that if McCarthy would agree to block the magats from any committees.  They would be fucking pissed.

That would be sweet, poetic justice.  But the civil war would just explode in the GOP.  I think that would be too much.  You also have some MAGAs like MTG that are backing McCarthy.  No way she doesn't get a good committee assignment.  But if he blocked the 20 holdouts, that's another story.  He has to give Jordan a plum committee too.
