Maybe a joint tour announcement US/EU on Monday?

Tuesday would have been the first date of the EU tour and I really can‘t believe that they let the original dates pass without a word on rescheduled dates or at least a refund option. The casual concert goer, that has a ticket but hasn‘t heard of refund options before the original date might be slightly irritated. At least I know some friends in Frankfurt who are.
    New Ohana dates - Sept 24-26, 2021

I wonder if the guy who started this conversation cringes each time he notices that he used "here" rather than "hear."
No or he would've just edited the title

So the last concert scheduled is the first rebooked. Announce some plans for the spring tour already.

I was thinking the same thing.  I guess the further into the future a new date is, the more confident they are to announce it.  It also might be a factor that when it comes to Ohana, they are better able to get their ducks in a row, given that it is Ed’s festival.

I think that was because it was a festival, so all the festival did, was cancelled it's 2020 show, and promising to resume at it's 2021 show which they were probably going to do anyways.

Given what's going on with Coronavirus, spring may or may be be optimistic for a return to concerts.

I can see why PJ is waiting it out.   If they planned spring dates, the situation isn't good, then they postpone again (And it sounds like LiveNation is trying to put the burden of cancellations on the bands).

I'm totally contradicting myself, but if it starts look real bad for concerts for 2021, maybe it is time to cancel, take a year or two off, regroup, and start over.

If LiveNation is making artists pay for it, they must think that 2021 has a solid chance at still being a shit show for concerts.

My guess is they have a couple of different scenarios worked out and are waiting for the virus to resolve before announcing, to avoid having to postpone a second time.
Makes sense.  No rush other than people would want refunds.  Otherwise, for Europe 2021 they probably will just wait until typical December timeframe.

    they already offered refunds.

They did for North America.  Not for Europe.

Just move the entire tour with similar timing to 2021. Before all the other bands / events snatch up all the dates.

This seems to be what everyone else is doing.

I agree though the fact that we do not know if spring is doable yet maybe what they are holding off on. I saw fuck it and bring out the dates. We all know the risk right now with booking and it would be nice to have something to look forward to. If it moves to the fall it moves to the fall no big deal imo.

No chance US will be ready by spring. The rest of the planet, maybe, but not here

Rebooking a string of dates must be so time intensive and involve a super level of planning and layers of costs. A lot of detail to resolve and sort through and a lot of people involved. I guess there will be a reluctance to go to those lengths without some certainty it can happen. I know other acts have, but it might be seen as wasteful if they get cancelled again.......My guess would also be that whilst insurance may have covered these things the first time around.....that wouldnt be part of the deal this time

No chance is very strong wording.  If the vaccine comes at the end of the year, I don’t think spring will be a problem.

It seems there won’t be shows before a vaccine because if there were going to be something done with distancing and masks etc. we already would have heard.  When vaccines that the US, EU, UK and Canada (no disrespect to other places) can get are approved and there is a timeline for their distribution, then plans could be made with some degree of certainty.  Assuming one or more of the vaccine candidates that are entering Stage 3 testing this summer do well, this should allow for a December announcement.  I was more optimistic for a while but now I think Euro next June/July is the earliest we will see them play.  I hope I am wrong.

I would have to think the outdoor amphitheaters are going to be popular the next several years.  20,000 person venue and limit to about 10,000 capacity with encourage social distancing.
