K, got a little bit of news......

Just called the Canadian Tire Centre, and told them that I heard about the cancellation and asked if they had any indication when the show may be rescheduled for. The person I spoke to was very nice, and said they have a conference call scheduled this afternoon and that she should hopefully have some news after that.....

I am now completely and utterly terrified at what will happen if one day this all goes down and is objectively serious and life threatening to the masses.

People will be murdering old ladies in the street for bottled water within days.

I called frontier and they’re allowing changes and cancellations with no charges for any flights in March. My flights are in April, they told me to call back when they have more info for April.

I think this keeps getting overlooked. We here have been ground zero in the U.S. First case in the U.S. was here. The county now has 116 confirmed cases in the county alone, including 20 deaths. Just the county. We have no capacity to test. In fact, many workers at the nursing home where the initial outbreak started still haven't been tested as of yesterday evening. Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Amazon, DocuSign, and other large employers here are having their employees work from home (which cut my commute in half). Many, many schools are closed after COVID-19 contact for cleaning. Some entire districts have now closed for the next couple of weeks and are doing distance learning. ComiCON and other events have been cancelled. And remember, we're only a couple of weeks into this here. Now we're seeing it go from just WA, to WA and CA, to the west coast, to all over the country in the past several days. And the information is still very limited as we don't have sufficient testing capacity to know the actual picture. Every day we see confirmed cases and death counts rise. This is a virus that is not well understood, for which there is no vaccine nor antiviral treatment. 
Everyone here, including the band, is being told to practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings, especially if you're in a risk category. Over 70% of the cases have hit those > 50 years old. So the band, and I, fall into at least 1 category immediately. A second category is underlying health conditions. While the band all seems fit and healthy, the reality is that at least one of them and perhaps more likely have some condition which makes them more susceptible. Additionally, even if they are fine, they can still carry and transmit the virus to others who aren't.
So it is entirely understandable that they are not interested in putting themselves, their families or their fans in harms way and are exercising extreme caution. That caution is warranted until we get a handle on this virus. We can't contain it, but we can all do our parts to slow the spread and buy the medical community time. Our hospitals in this area are already overwhelmed and we need to work on slowing the spread so that additional pressure isn't put on the already taxed infrastructures. The issue is emotional for sure. The band were clearly sorry that they reached the decision that would surely disappoint fans. But they're using the best information they have to inform their decision. Nobody has to like it, but I for one understand and appreciate the seriousness and thoughtfulness of their message and their actions.

Anyone have any luck getting a credit from JetBlue? I booked flights for my family from LA to NYC back in January, but they're only allowing cancellations for people who booked after Feb 27. 

Followup on this. I called JetBlue and they graciously gave me a full credit to book travel within a year. The flight itself can be for a date more than a year out.
