Republicans scared to vote in favor in fear of death threats. I don’t know maybe do the right thing for once. If they want that unity so bad they can’t just appease t he white supremacists. If this becomes another round of let’s appease t he white supremacists, we might as well just give them the ducking keys.
Vote in accordance w/ the oath you took or step down.
In terms of the presidency finally being labelled as disgraceful like it should have every second since inauguration? The wall are closing in a bit. But at this point, it matters a lot less if they would have closed in a couple of years ago. Now? He gets to ride off into the sunset beloved by a third of the nation, hated by a third of the nation. (The middle third? Probably relieved that it's over and hoping things quiet down).
If they actually vote to remove, that will be quite a stain.
So I guess they're closing in, but a bit late to do much good. And my god, look what it took to make it happen?

I think it's really important right now to take every lawful measure to dishonor the most dishonorable, seditious president this country has ever know. Impeach, 14th Amendment, 25th Amendment, pressure to resign, whatever it takes. The more shame heaped on this most shameful man, the better.

I don't know man. Mitchie Poo is said to be pleased at the thought of ditching Trump once and for all. The politics favor convicting him this time. Wasn't the case last year. And I heard at least 10 house repubs are voting for impeachment today.
again, no one claimed they weren't. i only claimed that trump doesn't believe they are.
I thought you were saying "yeah yeah, we've heard that before" and I said it was different this time. It is. Impeachment is happening today and the politics now favor conviction in the senate as opposed to a year ago. It doesn't matter what Trump believes but if he knows he will face conviction, then the odds of him resigning prior to that happening also increase. He is in a lose lose situation.

Closing in none the less. Better late than ever. Sadly, it's still politics driving the right. Luckily the politics favor dumping him to the curb now.

It will take more than laws to wake people up, IMO nothing short of a complete mea culpa by the GOP who pushed these lies about the election will start the healing process.
This would undoubtedly end in some of these people resigning, so it's probably not likely, but unless they do a full court press about the truth of the election and admit they were pushing lies, I don't see a path forward.
Tejas’ gomer Pyle wondered aloud why there hasn’t been uprisings around the country. These pukes ain’t backing down and seem locked and loaded with dreams of a civil war.
i believe I was responding to your claim that he will resign because the walls were closing in. i still don't think he resigns. if he resigns, he is admitting defeat, which, as we have clearly seen, he is incapable of doing.
again, I hope I'm wrong. I'll be shocked if he gets convicted in the senate. it's what needs to happen. it's hard to tell how much influence mitch has at the moment, and i think it's been reported that he will neither dissuade members from voting nor against.

I dont think he will be removed via impeachment. I believe the Senate will stall it out.
I do, however think that this is VERY important for the House to put this in motion. In the event that Trump steps out of line in the next week, I could see the Senate sending him packing quickly. It is critical to put the wheels in motion

I never said he would. I said the odds are higher because the walls are, indeed, closing in. When Mitch McConnell is said to possibly be in favor of voting to convict him....that tells you all you need to know. I think him just putting the possibility out there is a green light to those senators who have been more on the fence than others to vote how they wish.

Totally agree. I don't see Trump ever, ever, ever admitting to wrong doing or offering even a hint of an apology. He will go down in history as the most narcissistic, egotistical, selfish president in our history.

“Leftists in Hollywood.” Ken Gunk acting like Tricky Team Trump TREASON Tax Cheat was not worthy of criticism or accusations after being elected. Like he was pure or something. I wonder if he remembers Hillary Clinton?

One of the more realistic opinions I have read on the state of where we are. I still think many who voted for him are “party first” voters and the beloved percentage is much less than that. Whoever contemplated actually showing up to the capitol or would do the same at the state capitols next week are my main concern. Most people will do as they always have and accept that their party lost, going about their lives without being a threat to anyone. For people like me, the possibility of a much quieter 4 years on the political front is music to my ears.
Just had lunch and watched some serious deflecting along with some "let's join arms" from people who's entire job is to own the libs. Fuck them (almost) all.

I listened for about a half hour. Yikes on some of those R's statements. Heard Boebert give some fantasy comparisons that D's supported an insurrection this summer when BLM was rioting.
House, 5 so far voted for impeachment. 4 more have gone on record saying they will. A dozen total is expected as per CNN
edit: 7 now voted for
McConnell is going on record saying he is for impeachment in the house but now says he does not know how he will vote in the senate and will listen to the trial to decide.
Do the roughly 200 who just voted to protect trump realize a woman had to be killed by police to save their lives? Do they really think if that mob got through they would have stopped to figure out if they were R or D before killing them?
