Tomorrow I will cast my first ever vote as an American. I was rooting for Warren but have not made my mind up who I will go for tomorrow. I am very excited to finally be able to participate in the process.
Congrats! Where are you from originally and where do you live now?
From Germany, living in the mitten.
Congratulations and welcome. I was born in the mitten. So beautiful!

Turning in my absentee ballot for Biden today. I think it’s bull shit that the conservative legislative and judiciary branches of WI are not taking the citizens safety into consideration. Lines all over MKE today to vote.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
On a national basis, the picture is not much brighter for Trump. According to the IBD/TIPP poll, “Likely Democratic nominee Joe Biden saw his lead on Donald Trump widening in the latest poll, even as the number who said they would vote for him dipped slightly. In total, 47% said they would vote for Biden, while just 41% said they would vote for Trump.” Biden’s position has improved since March when he was leading by just three points. Once again, an incumbent president who draws only 41 percent in the midst of a national crisis appears rather weak. (Biden, incidentally, crushes Sen. Bernie Sanders by a 62 percent to 30 percent margin among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, one more sign that the Vermont senator has no path to the nomination.)

Remember in 2016 when everyone was so sure of the polling numbers? I do.
The 538 polling numbers within the margin of error? Or other polling numbers that showed Bernie beating Hillary?
What's Bernie's path to the nomination? Who, exactly, has endorsed Bernie from the party that Bernie pretends to be from?
John Lewis, the Georgia congressman and civil rights icon, formally endorsed Joe Biden for president Tuesday morning, becoming one of the latest in a long list of elected officials who have backed the former vice president.
“I read about Joe Biden when he became an elected official. I heard him speak. I met him,” Lewis (D) told reporters on a conference call ahead of the announcement. “And he’s been a friend, a dear friend. He’s a man of courage, a man with a great conscience, a man of faith. He will be a great president. He will lead our country to a better place.”
Biden’s campaign also announced an endorsement Tuesday from Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), who considered but ultimately declined to seek the Democratic nomination himself and who represents a general-election battleground state.

Just saying don’t plan us having a victory against trump based on polling data
What polling data shows the way for Bernie to capture the nomination?
You need to get over Bernie. I’m saying let’s not rely on polling data and think this is already won. But focus on Bernie that’s a sure way to beat Trump.

I was over Bernie well before 2016. It’s won over Bernie. Bernie is done. Finito. Time to rally around Sleepy Woke Joe.

the polling data that said Hillary beat Trump every time
The polling data said no such thing. 538 had most State-level voting simulations showing as Clinton winning marginally, with error bars that extended onto the side of Trump winning. That means when you aggregate them, the errors compound on both sides, increasing the spread of cumulative error when all States are put together, and the cumulative error bar agrees that Clinton's odds are better, with some margin of error extending to the 'Trump wins' side. State-level results, if I recall, fell almost entirely within 538's margin of error (and I believe national results fell within them as well). Are stats courses mandatory in schools in the States?

Why don't you believe he's telling the truth here?
Why does it even matter?
Didn't he get caught plagiarizing some British politician's speeches back in 1988? And I think there was something about his academic record that was called into question too at the time.
Also, don't you see some of these guys are just fucking with you? You post that same stupid "Has Bernie dropped out yet" thing every single day...like a troll. And they, who are Bernie supporters, troll you back with GIFs of Biden kissing little girls' necks, and lying about things from 30 years ago.

Why? Ask him. He did.
Ofc you don't think it "even matters" having a President who's a known liar, and plagiariser. Hah. Telling.
Would it matter to you if concrete proof of him sexual assualting that woman back in the 90s showed up? Or would it be another "why does it even matter?" situation?

You’ll never get an answer. You’ll get the same repeating nonsense. Or a copied tweet. That attitude does nothing to open conversations and convert people who are on the fence politically. They do the opposite. They will either not vote or vote against. That’s always been my stance here but it always gets deflected. Imo, these posters do more harm for their cause than good. That’s just my opinion.

He was accused of plagiarizing a speech in 88. My response to that is 1. it was 1988 2. I doubt he wrote his speeches 3. Is that really the worst offense by someone in politics since 1972? 4. It was in 1988. 5. That was 32 years ago. 6. It was in 88.
Yes, Bernie has dropped out. Just told staff he is suspending his campaign.
It’s for the best. I’ve liked his “revolution” even if I didn’t agree with most of his policy proposals (basically because he had no realistic way to enact them). But he was all but defeated anyway, nobody wants to bother with the primary anyway during the pandemic, and now we can go forward with the two candidates for the general.
