Anyone here more informed on this question I have.
    Can over sterilization hurt us?
This is a good question, and I have wondered about this as well. While I have always washed my hands under normal circumstances, I have lately been using hand sanitizer at a clip that is uncharted territory for me. It almost feels too convenient...

A butcher shop I frequently buy from called to let me know that the hog a brought has been butcher, processed, and packaged. Will have 210 lbs of fresh pork in the freezer tomorrow afternoon. So my family is good on that.

My wife has meals planned out for the next 10 days (leftovers for lunch). I will need to make a restock run at some point in the next week.

Oh, fuck yeah.  Good eats in the freezer!

All schools in an infected area should be closed.  Those places are like petri dishes, kids sneezing and coughing.  Ugh I was on edge last week.
Exactly. Anyone who thinks schools won’t help spread this must have been home schooled.

Literally the day before we closed I saw a girl dump her bag of chips on her desk and eat them straight off the desk, and of course sharing with others.
Even without an outbreak this is disgusting, I bet less than half the students wash their hands after using the bathroom.
That's a pretty ignorant statement. Why even say such a thing? What does being home schooled have to do with illogical thinking? I think a better statement would have been, anyone who thinks schools won't help spread this must be a Trump supporter.
It was a half joke, didn’t mean to offend anyone. And I wasn’t trying to imply if you’re home schooled you are an illogical thinker. I was just trying to say anyone who’s been inside a school knows that they are just a big Petri dish of illnesses. If you’re homeschooled not that your are logical, but you just haven’t witnessed the disgusting habits that go on. Sorry if I offended anyone homeschooled. I have nieces and nephews on my side and my wife’s side and you can get a great education at home if the parents put the effort in.

“ Momentum appears to be building for a national shutdown to confront the coronavirus crisis, raising the prospect that President Trump could issue an order requiring people to stay at home.

Such an order would be unprecedented in American history, but some of Trump's top advisors have said publicly they would be open to it. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Sunday he had raised the prospect of such a dramatic step with the administration.

“I think we should really be overly aggressive and get criticized for overreacting,” Fauci said Sunday on NBC's Meet The Press. “I think Americans should be prepared that they're going to have to hunker down significantly more than we as a country are doing.””

From an article in the hill.

Great so if the government completely bungles everything worse than they already have, people won’t be able to protest or congregate in the streets. So far I have seen no proposal that assures me that everything will be ok by forcing us to shelter in place while millions go without income and the bills continue piling up.

"Thank you" seems almost an inadequate expression of gratitude for your work and that  of all health care workers.  But thank you, big time gimme.  Be safe and keep us posted when possible.

Sheltering at home is our best defense against this right now so other than those performing essential services, the more people who stay home, the better.  I don't want us to have lines of military vehicles carting off corpses like what is happening in Italy.

This is hard for all of us.  My wife's bookstore is closed and she isn't sure she will even have a business when this is all over.  My business is shut down and I no longer (hopefully just for now but iffy) have a job (and all of the store employees are out of work).  But I'm staying home.  It's the right thing to do.  We NEED to do this.

They did the stimulus 11 years ago and it worked. The US was losing 700,000 jobs a month. They passed the stimulus and every month since then experienced job growth. Until now.

Yes, I understand where taxes come from.
I also understand that we spend billions of dollars on things that are not as essential bas preserving our country and our way of life, here.

We can take a step back from being the world police (America, fuck yeah!) and provide steps to save our economy

Easy to say right now...how about if this goes on a couple months  and people have no money for food and bills and no homes?

Easy to say?  Read my post again and tell me that was easy to say.  Oh, that's right, most used book dealers are rolling dough.  Come on man...
As of now very easy to say, most haven't had to tap into their personal savings and safety net too far yet and still have a paycheck coming in. At least those not living paycheck to paycheck.

Up for the govt to support this and go implement a way to survive this.
The easiest thing is to keep trying to limp and ignore the things we are seeing.
For our fucking idiot of a president to seek credit for how great a job he is doing.....
But you do realize the government gets its money from us, right? So if half the population is out of work the government won’t have a substantial way to support the other half.

They did the stimulus 11 years ago and it worked. The US was losing 700,000 jobs a month. They passed the stimulus and every month since then experienced job growth. Until now.
Completely different situation, people were allowed to leave their homes and work.
    Scio me nihil scire

There are no kings inside the gates of eden
  • Also, sending each person who makes under a certain amount  1200 bucks a few times is nearly fucking worthless.  If they don't have jobs they need to have relief not a few bucks.

I am a traditional conservative economic believer.
Yes, I understand where taxes come from.
I also understand that we spend billions of dollars on things that are not as essential bas preserving our country and our way of life, here.

We can take a step back from being the world police (America, fuck yeah!) and provide steps to save our economy

I posted the link to the solution I support
    Time for govt to lead.
    Agree 100%.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
