Did you care to read the rest of the tweet? The point being if the headline read that Aaron caught Covid on the 6th then died on the 22nd, he goes down as a Covid death. I do not understand what about that tweet is controversial. Or the other ones in this thread. All the data is there.

I don't think anyone could argue that EVERY death ascribed to COVID is accurate. This is medicine we're talking about. Misdiagnoses are nothing new. But none of this lessens the seriousness of COVID-19. I hope you take it seriously.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”

Where is “there?” In the tweet? How about linking to primary sources, rather than tweets? Hmmmmm, 400K versus 360K. I’m convinced because I didn’t have to look further than Cook County. Another fake news, media-Soros-Clinton conspiracy to keep us shackled by the deep state. Freedumb.
Stop making insinuations and come out and state your argument - otherwise, I assume we should take you at face value that your argument is that "this whole pandemic thing has been blown out of proportion". The dead and mourning might disagree with you on that one.
From day one, it was made clear that the burden on the health care system was the most important thing to keep under control. That didn't happen. Between bungled PPE storage, production, and distribution, the politicization of mask wearing against medical expertise (what the FUCK), inexplicably poor communication to health care providers (to their own personal risk), outright lies about when vaccines would be received (leading to planning for eventualities which would never arrive), frequent cases of hospitals at or above capacity (or rejecting new patients - whether they had COVID or not) - this was an unmitigated disaster.
If your intent is to trivialize the impact of a lethal disease which has ravaged the world and indisputably affected global life, there's no intellectual argument you will hear or accept.

My position is this, time to move on. The Election is over and Biden is in. Time to let everyone get their life back to normal. Time to take the masks off and get back to work. Time to take the masks off of school kids and get them back in the classrooms. Most importantly, time to stop testing people. Period. Name a disease/virus so bad that we have to test them to know they have it? The rich/elite have made an absolute killing During this time where the common person has lost all. They are jetting all over the world living their best life while the rest of us are locked down and suffering. I could post numerous “Rules are for thee, not for me“ links but I will not. Y’all have seen them.
Please someone dispute anything I said and leave the clown emojis and Q and Trumper stuff out of it.

Because the rich got richer that means everyone should not adhere to safety measures? That doesn't make sense. We have seen a stark increase in excess deaths in the US since the pandemic began (taking into account all causes of death, not just Covid-19). 424,000 More U.S. Deaths Than Normal Since Covid-19 Struck - The New York Times (nytimes.com) Imagine the numbers had some of us not adhered to safety measures. Imagine the numbers if we do not continue to adhere to safety measures as you suggest. And as a reminder, each number is a life lost.

Why should anyone bother disputing your obvious misinformation campaign? You've already had to ignore/dismiss mountains of data and common sense to arrive at your position, there's not a chance in hell that the best laid factual argument is going to move you an inch. You are the worst, most insidious kind of disinformationeer...if you find data that supports your preconceived position you grab it, internalize it, and spread it. If you come across data that refutes that preconceived position, you literally don't even see it. It never enters your grey matter because you can't afford for it to disrupt your cognitive harmony.
Reminds me of the climate denier I know who doesn't accept any temperature data on Earth, but points to estimates of the temperature on Mars as evidence against anthropogenic climate warming. 🤦♂️

It's a valid argument but there would be absolute consequences of doing that. While Covid19 isn't the most lethal plague we've ever seen it is highly contagious, which means it doesn't damage in numbers. This means if America does what you say, we'd probably see:
1) The virus would spread undeterred, even far faster than it is now. Even though it seems like it's spread alot, it's still 25m americans. That means something like 310 million haven't gotten yet. If there were 400,000 deaths on the first 25 million. That would translate into 3.6 million more Americans dead if the thing went rampant.
2) Hospitals would be everwhelmed. If you got the thing, but had complications, you're probably going to die, because there won't be room at hospitals.
3) I'm not sure which government you think just got elected, but the one that was ignoring the pandemic just go the boot.
4) Just because someone days "everyone go back to normal" doesn't mean people will. People are pretty aware there's a pandemic going on and would most likely not ignore it. A significant portion of the population would probably keep trying to stay healthy regardless of such an announcement (sort of like how a large portion does the opposite and ignores health measures).
That's about it really. You could make an argument to go back to normal, but there would be tradeoffs. Is a few million more deaths worth it? I guess so. If your making the Thanos argument. Loosing 2% of the world population might help the planet a tiny bit, that that's also a lot of heartache.

You seem to have this all figured out. I am curious though how you have not figured out we need to test healthy people with light symptoms to let them know that they are positive and to have them not spread it to someone that is more susceptible to the virus and could die. We all know the majority of healthy people that get this will be mildly inconvenienced by it.
People arguing against safety measures are usually either 1) Dumb 2) Ill-informed. Those that purposely continue to only seek out affirmation of their own, non-fact based decisions ...their feelings are both.
Just because something hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Just cause you worked 30 years without wearing safety glasses and never had an eye injury doesn’t mean they aren’t needed and save eyes. The first thing I hear during safety incident investigations is usually “ive been doing it this way for 20 years”......
Lets just get back to some basics: 1) Trust science...and even lean a little to doing stuff that we think might help. 2) Care about other people and not just yourself. It’s ok and natural to worry about yourself...but don’t let that get in the way of the data that shows the issues.
3) Hold people that spread lies that injure others accountable for their actions

"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
Got two clown responses and one thoughtful response. Is that what they call getting ratioed on Twitter? Anyways, to explain the death toll and measures not being taken, what are the explanations for New York and California which had the strictest measures of any states? As I type, Birx is on CBS talking about how Trump failed (which I agree) but why should I listen to the woman that said I should not gather for Thanksgiving and went to her lake house with her family from different households? Rules are thee, not for Debbie B!
My local news told me this morning that the CDC is recommending two masks now, because... one isn’t enough? One doesn’t do anything? Honest question, why stop at two? This ain’t the law of diminishing returns here, why should I not wear three. Before I get yelled at, I absolutely wear a mask everywhere I have to (which is essentially everywhere outside of my home) and mask compliance is 99% everywhere I go. And I am even in a red state (TN).

Because what she said was correct. What she did was not.
I don't see the problem here.

Clowns get clown responses. I wouldn't wear more than on mask, I don't think your ears can handle the extra strain unless you take your foil hat off.
A lot more responses which have legitimate points, I appreciate that. To answer one question about letting the virus go undetected, do you think that is not going on now? It is almost certain that the number of “confirmed” or “probable” cases is actually probably doubled or tripled.
Got to run so I am not dodging anyone, have church (masks required) then my daughter has middle school basketball practice! Yay normalcy!
And to give you a non-clown response, not that it's worth my time... Regarding New York and California, there's this little thing called population density, and it's pretty relevant to things like pesky old pandemics.
