what about the rest of you , even if we get back to normal I’m done socializing, no games no concerts no movies I’m ok with not having any of these as part of my life I’d rather sit by a river by a lake with no one around ..
    Sorry to hear that.

I do not believe it. If that was the case than the death rate would be 0.0888% if you factor in 3000 deaths and a population of 10.24 million people. There is no way it is that low.

Edit: I see you said Stockholm alone. I still do not buy it.

Well, SC, my guess is that we reach the "herd" immunity your country is contributing to before the vaccine or treatment. So a big thank you, as my province is banning international travel until then! We're calling it "community immunity".

Kat, lol, I suppose you are referring to your President. I loved the "my work here is done" photo you posted a ways back.

Ugh, the BC College of Dental Surgeons (dentist governing body) are only booking emergencies although the province is giving the green light. la-la-la

Except Obama was very much alive and well. Not surprising though as that whole political party needs way more than empty chair therapy.

Back to Dr. Bright's removal from BARDA:

Bright "provided information to a reporter about the specific danger to the public health and safety caused by the Administration's decision to release these untested drugs for use by the general public," the complaint said. The journalist was Katherine Eban, whose Reuters article on April 16 revealed internal emails about the Trump administration's chloroquine push.

"HHS leadership, including [HHS] Secretary [Alex] Azar and Dr. Kadlec, were already gunning for Dr. Bright's removal because of other issues he had raised about fraud, waste, and abuse, but they chose to remove him as BARDA Director within days of publication of the article about chloroquine because they suspected that he was the source," Bright's complaint said.

it's funny, as people keep asking (obviously) how things are going, and i honestly tell them "my life hasn't changed all that much; if i'm being honest, it's actually improved as i don't have the stress/anxiety of turning people down and/or cancelling plans".

my wife, on the other hand, is going batty not being able to see people. but she sure is enjoying not working while getting paid 100%.

There are several people in my life I need to stop talking about this with.  It blows my mind the stupidity I'm seeing and hearing from educated people.  I finally told a couple of them that it's best we don't talk about this topic anymore at all or it is going to start straining relationships.  I even had to tell one of them that "you can't fix stupid."  Probably a bit much, but oh well.  That's how bad this shit has become.

Does anybody think that this is going to hit all of us no matter what?
Hit us, as in affect us in some way? Absolutely.

Hit us, as in infect all of us? Probably not. Epidemiologically, that would be pretty rare, though eventually a good chunk of us will have been infected. Over 50% I’m pretty sure, maybe closer to 75%.
Yes infect all of us eventually.  It appears that many people are getting it even without contact which is just mind boggling.

66% of the new patients that are being admitted into nyc hospitals were stay at home and quarantined.  If that number is correct then I see everyone having this at some point, asystematic or not.

Also if this is true then the numbers from China are false, but we kind of knew that already.

    Question about those people.

Do they travel?  If they do travel is it outside of the comfort zones of Europe and the Bahamas?  Purely curiosity on my part as I would like to compare them with my same family members.

What’s your source for that figure? I find it very hard to believe that 66% of people ill enough to be admitted to hospital had absolutely no route of infection. Who was getting their groceries, necessities, etc?

Just looked it up - the “staying at home” people were not “quarantined” at home. These are the people who were not going out to work, but were otherwise doing what was allowed under the lockdown rules - ie getting groceries, getting takeout, etc. And who knows how careful they really were with their social isolating?

There are several people in my life I need to stop talking about this with.  It blows my mind the stupidity I'm seeing and hearing from educated people.  I finally told a couple of them that it's best we don't talk about this topic anymore at all or it is going to start straining relationships.  I even had to tell one of them that "you can't fix stupid."  Probably a bit much, but oh well.  That's how bad this shit has become.
    Question about those people.

Do they travel?  If they do travel is it outside of the comfort zones of Europe and the Bahamas?  Purely curiosity on my part as I would like to compare them with my same family members.

    @bbiggs ?

They don't travel at all.  I have one family member that travels domestically for work, and he has some different views on this than mine, but nothing crazy.  He's pretty reasonable.  The crazy ones do not travel.  They just think the light switch should go from off to on and that the virus is not nearly as harmful as it has been made out to be.  Always glad to chat more on it if you want to PM me.

Look no further than where these 'smart' people get their news.

Some right wing friends of mine like to post the crazy no vetting weird youtube videos and say 'interesting' or 'makes you think'

they love to feed their stupidity.
