Yes, and even though nothing proven....I still bought the tylenol I saw on the shelf when I got gas the other day. 
Just in case. No reason to risk.

I don't disagree, and you raise some valid points; but looking at the situation in Italy, I think slowing this thing down needs to be priority #1 above all else.

Yeah I bought a 500 count of Tylenol last week at Costco.  It was literally the last bottle on the shelve. The Walgreens near me had none.

Our health care system won't collapse. The risk is that it gets overwhelmed by a surge of critically ill patients and deaths spike because of a capacity issue. That is a horrible outcome, but just to be clear about what we're up against.

It is not at all. It is a disaster in its own right but it's a completely separate issue from functioning hospital systems, physician organizations, etc. once we are on the other side of this.

Yeah I bought a 500 count of Tylenol last week. It was literally the last bottle on the shelve. 

Since it was a gas station, I think mine is like 24 only.  I will buy more if I see it.  Not to hoard, but enough in case someone is dealing with this for weeks in my house.

I agree. I thin everyone agrees we need to get a handle of the situation.

But it is still horrifying thinking of the economic and social ramifications of this going forward. 

And you sort of hope they will find a quick-fix in some surprising buy oh so logical way.

Status quo is not on the table. That's gone for now. What's going to be weighed is recession vs. depression. We're talking degrees of calamity. What others are saying (and I tend to agree with) is that there is a human life toll on the bad end of that, too.

People here actually listen and respect lifestyle changes that must be done.

Going back to Trumps statement: After 15 days the country will assess if the cure is worse than the disease.

This sounds reasonable and maybe hearing this will help all the stir crazy people at home who are doing the right thing.

An argument for economy over disease:

With earth's population saturated, perhaps the elderly, who helped run the environment into the ground, could sacrifice for the next generations, giving youth a better chance of survival?

The problem I have with the youth is them not taking this so seriously.  

In Sweden we have the problem that the ELDERLY do not take it seriously. While the young hide at home to protect the old, the old are out DOING THEIR REGULAR OLD PEOPLE SHIT

I watched the film Contagion last night.  Aside from it having the expected Hollywood moments, it was very good and frightening how much it resembled what we are living through at the moment.  The warning signs of this happening have been there for many years.  We failed to prepare accordingly.
