Reminds me of the shift that Queens of the Stone Age went through heading into Like Clockwork and Villains. They were different, retro in some ways, new age in others, but still 100% QOTSA. This song and album will be the same, even if it's a new direction.

Eddie confuses me Around the “positive? Positive! POSITIVE!!” and they for sure could have found a better line than “out of this world.” Maybe we will get the meaning of that line somewhere down the road though
You Are, with all it's funkiness, is one of my fav songs by PJ though, so I'm already predisposed to dig it

Liked the music more than Ed’s vocals. The dad growl in the beginning was, meh. Thought I heard a line about boys take pills for their dicks lol. Was grooving at the end though.....

I dig it too...was in need of anything refreshing after Can’t Deny Me, Ole, etc..I like Lightning Bolt, but it feels relatively safe in retrospect
Was hoping it would get harder towards end, but I guess it’s kind of cool that it doesn’t.
of things I’ve been listening to lately, I feel like it has a Wolf Parade vibe.
really like the delivery of the vocals

Love this a lot more than CDM. It's still growing on me but I think I'll like whatever new direction they're taking us with the album. I dig the tone of the song, it's a lot darker than most of LB imo. I just can't believe I have to wait at least a month for more music

I think that ultimately I am glad they are trying something new. Lighting Bolt was essentially a revised Backspacer style and so to have something sonically new, for PJ in 2020 means they are a band still interested in evolving which is a very good sign to me. They can write Lighting Bolts and Backspacers the rest of their career if they felt like coasting in a comfort zone, an 80s New Wave song from a 90s grunge band takes balls
I don’t know. There are parts I like and it definitely sounds like Bowie or Talking Heads or something. Well, everyone wanted experimentation. You got it.
I simply appreciate that it is nothing I have ever heard before from them or anyone really...we will see where it goes album wise...is it representative of the entire Gigaton or not? We wait and see...with great anticipation, which is much more positive than any other musical act that exists today...thank you PJ
