Loving it!  Based on that initial listen, loving the Prince-esque funky guitar, lyrical melodies from Ed, and the general groove and vibe which is a totally 80s sound and different for PJ.  Interested to see where the whole album takes us

That was refreshing! I had no expectations going in, and that groove got to me.

Wow.  Don't know what to think.  It definitely doesn't have much Pearl Jam to it.  A change for sure.     I'm excited to hear the rest of the album.

I liked it. Was just trying to envision it live though. And of course wondering if the whole album will have that type sound to it.
But def dug it on first listen.

DotC might be my favorite song since Riot Act, and I'm only partway through the second listen. LOVE the Talking Heads influence. LOVE the band branching out into something new (for them). LOVE the production. I dig it so hard. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album. Really hyped after the first track.

Sounds like David Bowie. I’m still trying to process it, but need to listen again to form an opinion.

On my second listen now, but I'm in work on shitty computer speakers.
I really like it so far, but I need to crank it again in the car later

    I dig it.
Felt like a talking heads song.
Tempers are wearing thin. Let's hope some robot doesn't kill everybody.
  • I think this could be a real banger live. Reminds me a lot of Bowie, arctic monkeys, new age type sound

Hate the drums and that it sounds like one guitar through the whole song. Will be better to hear MFC drums live.
The chorus reminded me of 90s Bowie.

Right off the back, I thought David Byrne/Talking Heads

It’s catchy... I’d like for it to stay in my head for a long time.

Couldn't say it any better,  the excitement for the new album continues to build,  I love when artists take their fans outside their comfort zone,  lol!

  • Looks like some of you never bothered to listen to the bands Ed wears t-shirts of. I'll take anything fresh over rehashed riffs all day every day.
  • Not sure what to think after first listen. Kinda liked it, definitely nothing we ever heard from them

  • Had me in mind of The Man by the Killers throughout the entire song.
