I just posted this in the Tour Rumor mega thread, but figured I would here too, just in case.

SOLD prices on StubHub for the MSG show so far.

    Absolute madness.

And those posts are speculative inventory from those sellers.  Those people that “bought” can get their order cancelled when the seller doesn’t get the tix.

Same thing done for super bowl tickets all the time
So how are they getting around this policy?

    Fan-To-Fan Face Value Ticket Exchange
For fans who are unable to use their tickets, Pearl Jam and Ticketmaster will offer North America’s first Fan-to-Fan Face Value Ticket Exchange, which will allow fans to resell their tickets for the price they paid (including all fees). The Fan-to-Fan Face Value Ticket Exchange will launch on February 18, 2020. There will be no additional fees charged to Exchange users for buying or selling tickets on the Exchange.

That's a shame.  So the reduced odds for getting an MSG ticket are partly due to the ticket brokers(scalpers) competing with us(The real fans)!

Possibly but they’re probably only going to be transferable via TM. I don’t think any ticket sold on StubHub will actually be a successful sale.

  • Just to clarify there are no "all three options". It's either GA OR Reserved OR "Best Available" (First GA then Reserved).
ok thank you. Would you recommend best available?

Snap, I saw that a while ago and was gonna put the link here but got busy.

Besides the prices, there is some very useful info on the StubHub page. There is a distinct trend to these listings that should make 10c members happy

This will be the first Pearl Jam show for me so I want to go no matter what, so yeah I'm going with "Best Available". If you select "GA" and then don't get it then you're basically out of luck, so I'd rather deal with Seats than not going at all.

For that to work Ticketmaster would need to handle the transaction to know what is paid for the ticket.  If not, then the broker can sell it for whatever they can get.  Stubhub already listing many tickets and it says they will be ready by Mar 29.

You can transfer most tickets to an outside party for NY shows. That was NY AG looking out for the little guy.

A scalper can sell a ticket on stubhub and then transfer the ticket through ticketmaster to the buyer.

Can I ask how? Any ticket I have ever bought or sold on StubHub I have never had direct contact with the other party and it’s all been done via StubHub. I’m not saying you’re wrong at all I just didn’t know this was possible.

I'm in Colorado (the other state listed as having that law), and never heard of that law before. But never been in a situation where I needed to.
I guess I could see the argument looking out for the little guy, it would suck to have some family or medical emergency and not be able to attend and have no way to sell your tickets. But wouldn't it just make more sense to only allow transfer at face value or something?

Correct. I had tickets to the last Mumford tour. I believe they too had a close circuit way of transferring tickets to other fans except for NY. Tickets were mobile entry and when I couldn't make the MSG show I just transferred to my sister.

Reading through this thread it sounds like many don't know how the odds work.
    I understand it like this....
if 10C has 10,000 seats for a show and 5k put it as their first choice, 5k put it as their second and 5k put it as their third choice the lotto will end up with the following results.
Everyone who put it as first will get it. Everyone who put it as second will get it. No one who put it as third will get it. But the odds are displayed as 67% since there are 10k seats and 15k requests for them.

Priority is the biggest factor. But it looks like even MSG has a very good shot if it is your first pick.
This guy gets it. I don't understand why so many people are confused by the odds. A 99% means that basically they have not met demand for their allotted tickets yet so no matter the ranking you'll most likely get it. At 11%, it is saying there are many more requests (among all the entries) than tickets.

Then as they draw winners, show by show, starting with the First Priority pool, they will fill those orders. If after first priority is full, say 200 of the 10000 tickets remain, your odds are then about 2%, and they'll go through the second priority requests.

I am standing by my hypothesis that these are tickets that were allocated to TM for the Verified Fan and General sale that will never see the light of day are being leaked to 3rd parties so that they can post them and then split the profits.

It just makes too much sense for that not to be what it is.

It's what happens anytime the market price for something is higher than the MSRP.

Eventually the retailer is like 'Fuck this.  I'm bypassing the official channels and selling these for what they are actually worth.'

'I know I was born and I know that I'll die, the in between is mine.'
