Seems like it could be abused for sure with the right doctor but I know if my wife's life was at risk and we were 35 weeks in I would opt for the abortion if the risk was that great. That is if there was no other way around it like a C section for example. At the end of the day it would be her call but I know what I would want.

Ya that is fucked up for sure. I just talked to my wife about this and we feel like it has good intentions to save the women obviously but looks like it could be easily abused as you said. There is always adoption as we all know especially if you are already that late in the trimester and your life is not at risk.
I go back and forth on pro life and pro choice myself and see arguments that I agree with on both sides. One stat that is incredibly sobering to me is that out of every 1400 recorded pregnancies roughly 400 were legally aborted in 2015 in NY. That is an insanely high number to me.

Seems by changing the word “life” to “health” as it relates to women’s pregnancy after the 24th week, the courts have previously ruled that “health” can include finances, mental well being and other factors. However, that said, I highly doubt a woman could walk into a facility a day before giving birth and “demand” an abortion for financial reasons. I suppose she could but I doubt the facility would perform it. There’s typically medical evaluation, counseling and a waiting period, blood tests, etc. that occur. Sounds like the extreme is being loudly broadcast by the pro-life crowd. Maybe that fella that exposed ACORN could knock up some chick and take her to a NY State abortion provider in her ninth month and try to get an abortion? You know, sacrifice one for the cause?
