Just got a text from a friend very very high up the ladder at Safeco telling me to plan on visiting him this summer! He apologized he couldn’t give me dates yet but said it would be announced soon! No bs, just thought I’d let everyone know it sounds official

No, not really......look at the top quote. Safeco seems very likely.

If you scroll back, there are some other people that seemed to have some inside info that stated Boston and Wrigley are happening. Safeco hasn’t been mentioned as much, but Dimi did mention northwest and he’s usually spot on.

He also specifically mentioned northwest states in the plural form, so to me, that seems to be hinting at a northwest leg of a possible arena tour. I mean what ball parks are there in the Northwest states (Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and maybe NoCal) besides safeco that would be viable venues? I don't think there are any, the closest thing I can think of is AT&T park in San Francisco

true, there are a few thankfully. But I would guess there has to be someone with solid info out there. It must take dozens if not hundreds of people to nail down a tour. There must be somebody who would leak some solid info. Even just solid dates?

We have info in this thread from our favorite Greek, grounds keepers at Fenway, Mariners employees, and even Theo Epstein himself

    Shit is going down :)

The 2016 Tour had a good handful of people that knew venue workers that had inside info about Pearl Jam having holds on specific arenas. I love how Dimi trickles out info and gets the hype going but there are others out there and it seems this has already started to happen with the ballpark rumours. Now if we can get info on the full tour that would be great!

You are right. I think he has definitely hinted at multipem north west spots which would make me believe there will be a west coast arena tour.  Unfortunately, I don’t think those rumors will start to leak out for a couple months.  Hopefully at least the stadium shows will be announced this month. Always nice to be able to plan early.  My wife gets annoyed that we have to wait so long to plan our family vacations :)

You would think so, but so far everyone is pretty tight lipped about it. Hopefully we know something definitely before too much longer.

Any reason for Aussie fans to get excited about 2018?

Not surprised at all about only stadium shows in the US.  2 shows for Seattle, Boston and Chicago.  Wonder what show number 7 is.  Missoula?  Can't see a  Vancouver or Portland one-off show if doing two shows at a big place like Safeco.

Are you saying 7 ballpark shows and that is it for 2018 and then a full US tour in 2019?

If I want to read more into Dimi's posts lately, there is a new profile pic and Eddie with Canada flag on his Twitter, and he posted a PJ in Vancouver video from 2013. Now that may be digging far too deep...and BC is pretty 'Northwest'. But there will be a tonne of us from Western Canada in Seattle if there is Safeco shows. bootlegger10 said:

If there is a show in August or September separate from the three ballpark double-headers (two each in Seattle, Chicago and Boston), I’d think Missoula could be a suspect if Tester running for Senator again in Montana.  No inside info, just a guess.

    7 shows.....

Fenway was rumoured to have 3 shows from the start though I just passed that off as 3 holds and 2 shows. Also why would they play Safeco on a Wednesday and a Friday when the field is available that weekend?

No doubt they play a show in support of Jon Tester in an election year

my guess is renting the field on weekdays costs a lot less than weekends but surely it ain't all about money. or is it  ;)

The way Eddie throws money around when they play after curfew I would say not but that is more in the moment I guess then a business decision. Talking about curfews does anyone know if Safeco has one? Fenway night 1 was cut short due to the strict curfew and while the show was great you could tell the ending was rushed with songs being cut left and right.

I don't see them playing Monday of Labor Day Weekend... that definitely feels like a Fri/Sun...

    Would love an announcement soon
I'll take anything at this point.

But, playing Labor Day Weekend would suck for traveling. Plus, i would expect Hotel prices to be very expensive, and Hotel prices in Boston are already expensive as it is.
Thats why I didn't go to Fenway last time, the hotels were crazy priced. It would have cost me a $1000 for like 3 days if I recalled correctly
Stay outside of town and use the metro
I looked at doing that, and some  of those places were expensive too. I find a couple of places that weren't too badly priced, but decided not to do that. Plus, i admit, if i can help it, not to use the metro when i travel for shows. If i can, i'd rather stay close  to the venue where i can walk.

Still HOPE ther some Arena shows in the mix.
This is what I prefer to do. My choice and plus I would have had to put flight costs on top of that as I'm coming from Ontario. Could have maybe done it if I didn't go to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami :)

    2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
2014 - Cincinnati, St. Louis, Detroit

    2018 - Fenway 1&2
    2022 - Hamilton, Toronto

I think we all got excited about a big tour this year with all of the talk of three continents.  But I think reality is setting in with a "bigger" leg in Europe, and then three shows in SA and a few ballpark shows in the US.   Nothing different than any other post 2006 year other than 2017 with no shows.

2013 was pretty big though for PJ, so perhaps a new album in 2019 will usher in a "full" US tour.

Mariners schedule has Sept 29, 2018 as CCFA night with Mike doing the national anthem. So if there is a fall/winter tour, it is either not around that date, or they will be near Seattle at the time. So if it is a bunch of PNW dates, then I guess that info really doesn't help us figure anything out either way, but I thought I'd add it to the mix.

I’d be pretty bummed if that’s all it was. I’m really hoping for a west coast arena tour. Did both chicago and Boston last year and I’m ready to get back to the arenas.

Yeah.   I think of these shows I would only consider Wrigley and if I can’t get GA I would pass.
