I love my food processor. One of my favorite tools
You need to teach me things. I hated my old one, but it wasn't a very good one.

    Tell me stuff.
Sauces, sauces, sauces and marinades...I’ll give it some thought and post some stuff but the easiest is hummus. Chickpeas, tahini, olive oil then do whatever else you want...garlic, lemon, roasted pepper.
Hummus sounds great. I haven’t tried that yet. I don’t use mine that often but I have used it to make an awesome carrot-ginger salad dressing. Mine also has a dough hook attachment that I used when I last made homemade tortillas.

    Hummus ... yum!

No dough hook on the FP, but I do have one on the KitchenAid. May need to invest in the whisk attachment if the kid needs it.

Nice surf and turf. All looks great. Too rare for me but I know that’s how you like it. The shrimp looks perfect.

I want to take a roll, dip it into the juice and then pipe high with pig, perhaps add some slaw.... awesome.

I don't know what kind of peppers these are.  They were labeled as Thai peppers, but none of them grew more than an inch.
I guess I'll just call them hot saucers, cuz that's what they will be.

Asian tonight. (I feel like that's a recurring theme with me.)

    Vietnamese Spring rolls

    Thai Morning Glory

    Japanese Gyoza

  • Wow.  Both to the peppers and asian feast!

This all looks amazing. I especially like the gyoza. You got the perfect sautee on those.

Your seafood spreads are nothing to snuff at, that's for sure.
Personally, I like good and authentic Asian food above just about anything else, but I don't have access to good, fresh seafood very often.

Thai ornamentals or bird's eye chili.  Those little fuckers pack a punch!

They very well may be ornamental.  Very hot and upright facing peppers makes it likely a capsicum frutescens, and most of those are ornamental.

    They bite back lol!
I made hot sauce and it's very hot and a little bitter.  It also came out a little too thick to shake out of the bottle so I'm going to thin it down a bit with some AC vinegar and a touch of sugar.  Looks gorgeous, as rojo as rojo can be.

That looks delicious. As always, your presentation is spot on.

  • Anyone have any good gameday spreads going on today?

I have wings in the smoker, wife is making buffalo chicken dip, some scallops wrapped in bacon and a tomahawk for nightcap that was impossible to pass up at $10.99/lb on special today from my butcher.
  • No I didn't plan ahead....but that sounds amazing.  Should really have treated it like super bowl Sunday with the questions about how the season may go.
Think I will make a crab salad and eat on that a few ways.  We do have some big, nice looking scallops on freeze that we can thaw for dinner....perhaps paired with some short ribs.
