No, he did what he should have done, said nothing.

For once I actually think he did the right thing.  It wasn't about him...

    Edit:

I needed to add more to this.

He usually makes it all about himself and even though he tries to make it about the issue it never works out that way.  He finally does something that doesn't seem like a photo op or soap box speech for once.
He should have made a speech that seeks to unify the country in a genuine way.  That's what Clinton, Bush and Obama would have done (in recent history).  I disagree that the right play is to be out of sight.

And now he's trying the whataboutism gambit. ugh. I can't imagine anyone feeling consolation while he just keeps stirring... I couldn't be more disgusted. Stay safe everyone.
Halifax is right when he says that certain things have become the norm.  It has become normal for his behavior, that is what he is.  To think he is going to change would be crazy, actually I'd be scared.
It’s not just Team Trump Treason’s behavior or rhetoric but that of white nationalist in that the “manifestos” and online chat room discussions or postings are having their message content broadcast in “legitimate” forums like the WSJ, Washington Times, NYT, Faux News in the form of editorials and commentary or by a talking head. The language is slicker, more “intellectual” but the underlying theme, message or dog whistle is the same.
Hold it, you had me agreeing with you for a second there until the last part.

Basically you are saying that anyone that sees something in a way other than yours then it's pretty much nationalist, racist behavior/talk?

I am stretching what you said immensely but that is what I am gathering from it.

Lastly you see the opposition having oped pieces in those such publications?

We can take this privately if you'd like too.
That’s not what I said at all. Why would I take this privately, I’m not afraid to voice my opinions. Yes, the “opposition” whatever or whoever they are, pen op-Ed’s in the mainstream media.

Did you miss Tucker Carlson’s diatribe?
If it was going to be just a back and forth between us we could have it off here, lord knows you don't have a problem saying anything...

I haven't seen anything in the above mentioned papers that were flagged as such.  I did read an oped in the Post that called out Rev Al but that newspaper isn't mentioned above.

I have a few problems w Tucker and I have mentioned on here that I can't stand him.

1- He is an empty can, rebel rousing, performer and in no way should be considered a journalist.
    2- Yes, I missed it.
Jun 19, 2019 - An attorney with a history of ties to white nationalists has had several op-eds published in major media outlets like the Wall Street Journal.
Jun 18, 2019 - ... to white nationalist site VDare, has written for the Wall Street Journal, ... Epstein also coauthored at least four op-eds in the Journal, Forbes, ...

These are articles that reference the practice and not the op-eds themselves. But they usually reference all the buzz words, "invasion, " "nativeist decline," "declining birthrates," and long for the days of old. They may also touch on the "crime" committed by immigrants, even though facts bear out that they have a lower crime rate than native born. Its subtle, not as direct as that which is on line but again, the message is the same. You just need to read between the lines.

He shuts his mouth and people still don't like it?

    I disagree with you.

    A. Deliver a unifying speech
    B. Shut the fuck up
    C. Say something stupid or racist publicly.

I expect A, he gave us B, we're thankful it wasn't C.  I don't grade the president on his own personal curve.

Trump is a narcissist. When you live a lifetime of serving no one but yourself, develop a reputation of sleaze, inauthenticity and apathy, you have waived your right to the benefit of the doubt.

He has no idea the difference between a news anchor and a commentator. He wants Fox News to be a his personal propaganda machine, and thinks everybody that appears on the network should be like Hannity. It doesn't work like that. Someone like Smith is tasked with reporting the news, not spinning the news like Hannity is.

This video is what I think Trump is whining about by the way. Comments are disabled and there's way more dislikes than likes because this video is not up the ally of the typical Fox News viewer. But good on Smith giving a real heart-felt take on the situation rather than toeing the party line....

Yeah, I respect Shep for not toeing the party line. He calls bullshit on Trump pretty often these days. And Trump's tweet was par for the course. He lines OANN - One America News Network - home of right wing bullshit conspiracy theories. Scary that POTUS gets his "news" from them, but not surprising.

Dear Diary: Brought my healing powers to the devastated cities of Dayton & El Paso. Attacked Anti American left leaning leaders in both communities. They are pygmies in my shadow. These idiots think they can hurt me by playing the race card? I am an historic figure who strangled the rule of law, demonized opponents, exposed the Free Press as treasonous, ridiculed my sexual accusers & command the loyalty of the entire Republican Party. All done to create a stronger more MAGA America not infested with vermin. I gave a trillion dollar tax cut to the wealthy & have gotten rid of handcuff environmental regulations that made the rich even richer. In return, I will never be called a racist by a Republican. It would cost them money. It would cost them votes. It would cost them their jobs.., The smartest white people are on the Trump bandwagon!

That is ironically enough not news though. That is commentary.

I know but he's still a news anchor that reports news unbiasedly. So his commentary here is pretty unbiased. Compare that to say Hannity who I think opened his show that day praising Trump's "call for unity."

Never dog out Shep.  He takes a stand in a place where the power resides in the opposite opinion.

Ted Koppel interviewed Hannity maybe a year or two ago and made such a great point that Hannity had to agree with. Comparing cable news channels to newspapers, Koppel voiced concern that the "editorial page" (Hannity and Maddow) have become the front page, and that's so true. These days, people get their news from commentators like that. And if people perceive Hannity as reporting news, then they're going to perceive Shep as "fake news" if he has a dissenting opinion.

Looks like Biden in the last shot. Maybe a prophetic post of his passing and the flies attracted to his decaying carcass...
    It's a hopeless situation...

    From the WAPO

"President Trump remained largely out of public view as he visited Dayton, Ohio, the first of his two scheduled stops Wednesday intended to console cities recovering from a pair of mass shootings over the weekend. Aside from brief appearances on the airport tarmac as he arrived and departed, Trump did not speak publicly or allow himself to be photographed. The visit to Dayton, a city of about 140,000 people, was a marked break with tradition, as presidents visiting grieving communities typically offer public condolences and use the opportunity to try to comfort the nation. "

    So bad at his job.

Everyone continuously says that Trump says the wrong things. Divides.  Does this, does that.

He shuts his mouth and people still don't like it?

    I disagree with you.

For once I am happy he shut up.
.....until he got on the fucking plane.

Donald Trump is a piece of garbage.
