I have lived in the DC suburbs almost my entire life. Dinner parties with both politicians and reporters in attendance have been a fact of life here for all the decades I've been alive. Growing up reading the Washington Post, I loved the column with all the pictures of the parties. The most coveted invitation in town was the invitation to dinner from Katherine Graham herself, the publisher of the Washington Post. Her guests were always sworn to the utmost privacy, because she felt like her gatherings were places that people could speak freely about the issues of the time without fear of political backlash.

If I were to do a historical search right now, I would probably discover that these dinners have occurred for as long as our Republic has existed. After all, Ben Franklin himself got started in business as a newspaper publisher -- and he sure loved the ladies, too.

Again, the only thing that surprises me here is that people are surprised. There was a time when it was considered classy to attend such events. It used to be classy to respect people's privacy, too. I'm feeling nostalgic this morning for the good old days.

There's 1000s of leaked/hacked emails that anyone can search by key word subject and etc. That's the cool thing about wiki they release ALL info in raw format without interpretation or commentary.

It's information, I make no assumptions about what peope know and what they don't, I certainly don't assume I know more than anyone else.
I do know this, a US election should not cost a billion dollars. Does anyone disagree?

I just haven't found any of the emails being posted relevant to much of anything. I already knew that politicians play politics, which is all I see in any of these emails. We're there people who didn't understand that politicians play politics? Is that why they are interested in these 1000s of irrelevant emails?

Responding to these types of questions are a complete waste of energy. Ultimately if you already have everything figured out and find nothing on this thread informative or useful then you're probably better off on the 1'000's of other post

This is the voting bloc that watches cnn msnbc and main stream media, they won't determine the election, the young ins Indies and Bernie supporters that use social media will. At minimal if nothing else they verify and provide proof to what many believed.
