So because of a FEW folks, you want to ban drinking from shows? It is still a show. Even the opera, lol serves drinks! But yes, I totally agree it is annoying when u have someone constantly getting up and moving around. But again its a few people - usually frat boys or alcholics...if ur stuck dealing w/ that one person, sure I get it, it sucks, it can ruin a good show....

maybe a good compromise would simply be to have no booze allowed INSIDE the venue...all in all it seems impossible to find the happy medium and agree - so there's really no reason to argue about it...just making the point that banning alcohol isn't fair to others who can handle it.

How many performances have been ruined for fans by unruly jerks who either come to the show wasted or get drunk during the set. I'm down for a complete alcohol ban at PJ shows. Your never going to fix this problem completely but at least it will cut down on it. You don't have to be drunk to enjoy the show either. Try a show sober its much better and memorable.

I really enjoyed the show, and would anytime I get to see Eddie and/or the band as a whole. However, I think the discomfort was quite noticeable when Eddie showed just outright frustration, but at this point, it's over and done with, and there is nothing we can do about it now but hope that he and the band do come back to Milwaukee and don't hang the foolishness of others over the rest of us.

Sounds like the reviewer got the point. I don't think it was just the alcohol, plenty of people, myself included, drank at those shows and did not need to scream retarded requests.

This show was supposed to be anything but a rock show. I was so excited to see a side of Eddie and his songs that would never get at a large venue. I read many of the other fanviews from other shows and I was also excited to hear his comments and stories. Unfortunately the story time was wasted on drunk dumbasses who just kept yelling throughout the show. I think as a group we missed an opportunities to maybe hear more songs and some great stories.

Even through all this, I loved the show. I will not let the actions of a few wreck my experience. I hope I get this experience again. Thanks Eddie.

By the way, Eddie added Gone to the setlist with the line "I will be what I could be once I get out of this FUCKIN town". Anyone else notice that?

I hate to say it, but even with a complete ban, people are going to get wrecked at a bar beforehand or outside the venue. Some people just think you have to get smashed before a show. I don't understand why you'd do that at an intimate setting like this. Save that for the Buffet concerts.

I am with you on this - there have been times when a drunk person will get belligerent when they want something, like to push into your row when they don't have a seat there and you don't want to let them in. Edge forever.

Not sure if they are on the board, and I never caught their names, but I would also like to give a shout out to the couple on the end of our row who gave me an extra SNIPER program (which are really cool btw so if u didn't get one, and are going to chicago - get one!). THANK YOU again that was super cool of you to share your extra. I missed the boat when they were being passed out.

Ah! I was sitting right in front of and to the left of you guys! That was cool of that guy to give you the extra program. A real stand up fella.

Man, I go to a shitload of concerts every year - ranging from the intimate sit down acoustic shows, up to raging arena shows. Rarely do I let those stupid drunks ruin my show..which there is almost always someone - doesn't matter who is playing - some people are assholes you can't ban them from the shows unfortunately so that is that. Perhaps I've learned to just ignore them/tolerate and accept it. Also, I'm too damn old to be getting wasted, lol. So it isn't fair for you to be telling me I should try a show sober because it'll be more memorable - thats such a STUPID comment! Last night was very memorable for me, and I remember every min. of it. I was not wasted, I was not out of my mind. I had a clear mind and fully enjoyed the show - maybe I just don't let idiots get to me and have learned to ignore them better than you have. It sux for those who were annoyed by people...but I knew full well what to expect. I was zoned into the show, not the crowd.

And yeah banning drinking isn't gonna stop or change anything - they find a way to party beforehand...there's a reason prohibition didn't stand a chance. Now if they would only legalize MJ, there would be much mellow people in the crowds, and less rowdy drunks, which I'm all for. :)

ha yeah it is kinda fun to see where people were sitting. Met a nice fellow next to me - who was probably right behind you! Loved my seats....so here I will thank the ten club, you guys are the best!

And yeah I was really surprised when he handed me the extra - usually people horde those things! At least now there will be an extra one for someone else in chicago. :P

i thought it was a great showI had 3rd row right stage seats . the only time I heard any of the annoyance was this drunken girl next to me lost her credit card and was bitching about it for like five songs. to make matters worse the 2 girls in front of her confronted her and then the boyfriend of the lost credit card girl started yelling at the confronters. Great show I just drowned out all the morons.

oh and by the way I'm from illinois and love the brewers.

i just hope 10c puts us close enough that there aren't any drunk idiots in front of us. prefer for those folks to be behind me.

Right. Which is what usually happens at larger venues (ampitheaters). Let the lawn crowd get rowdy and do their thing. I often had lawn seats when I was younger for the simple fact that I didn't want to ruin anyone else's show. Now, I will pay whatever I have to, to stay off the lawn. I think that in these smaller venues, alcohol needs to remain in the lobby/ bar. I have no problem with drinking (even excessively) at a concert, but in a small venue where constant beer runs are going to obstruct someone else's view, it needs to be in designated areas. And it can't be said that Riverside couldn't have enforced it. I think I saw more security last night than I did at shows at Alpine Valley this summer.

not all, but a lot. i don't speak for them. I speak for me. I don't scream anything at shows....i was just shittin' around just now for the record. :) There are awesome fans and sucky fans whether it be a concert, a sporting event, or whatever....that's life. I just think it is funny that so many people on this board pick this stuff apart to no end. This thread is amusing me today...work is a bit slow.

Well i was at the show and yes it was bad! but to say Chicago is going to show Milwaukee how a real city does it is just plain stupid. Do you really think all the loud mouths will not come to the two shows in Chicago? It will be just as bad IF NOT WORSE! Come on people... Milwaukee is not some dumb city people can write off because we love cheese, brats, beer, and cream puffs... we also love Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder! I remember reading two weeks ago how some idoits started yelling and screaming in Boston and also got thrown out! Ohh but wait... people are smart in Boston because of the college scene and their sooo close to New York. A drunk idiot is a drunk idiot no matter where they live so stop bashing Milwaukee and the people of Wisconsin. Let's wait until these real fans in Chicago start yelling too... it's going to happen.

I agree the next time Eddie does a tour should be only for the ten club. If he ever does a tour again?
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

there is still a lot of season left :) the cubbies "curse" hasn't struck yet just wait it will. I'm guessing it will be a black cat riding on top of a billy goat, and the goat will have more than a passing resemblance to bartman.

I know a woman who hosts house concerts in Wisconsin. Sounds like she should have booked Eddie at her place. Slightly smaller venue... ;)

I watched a couple of the vids before they were pulled, and although I'm sure the screamers were very annoying, I've gotta say that the constant crowed CHATTER -- that buzzing hum of people carrying on conversations while someone, ANYONE is on stage playing by himself is beyond annoying - it's completely insulting. Other than a quick and whispered "omigod I love this song" you should keep your fucking trap shut. There are of course exceptions -- there are times when the clapping and singing along are encouraged. The singer will let you in when that's what he'd like. Sometimes he might even ask a question of the audience. Since clearly the screamers and talkers weren't there for the music, I don't know why they didn't just leave. They've got their ticket stub and that appears to be the only thing they were there for.

I'm really pleased and frankly kind of surprised that Eddie toughed it out for the people who were there for the music and the incredible intimate setting. I've seen less volatile people crack in similar circumstances.

Hope things go smoother for all the lucky attendees in Chicago. I'd suggest a few rolls of duct tape as the perfect accessory.

Ed also scrams early on any date before Chicago. I think he is always anxious to go back to his hometown.

While waiting outside the bus last night, some of us talked to the guy managing this tour (white hair, black glasses), as he smoked a cigar out on the sidewalk while Ed was visiting w/ a select few he let on the bus.

He mentioned to us there that Ed was becoming increasingly upset about how this has gone down at Milwaukee and other places. He definitely ran out of Riverside as a frustrated artist who puts allot of time into these shows, only to hear ridiculous idiots screw it up.

In some way its probably like his resistance to their old image from the early 90s. He's grown, the bands grown, and perhaps he thought (maybe naively) that the fan base largely has matured with him. And I think they have...with the exception of some...including some young newbies and others that don't know the difference between a acoustic and rock and roll show.

At the L.A. shows, there were a lot of drunken idiots who kept yelling out Eddie's name. One jerk behind us couldn't refrain from repeating the words "this show is tight". Eddie knows that he is admired...no one needs to disturb the audience in order to remind him!

I don't understand how people don't know how to adjust their behavior based on the current environment.

I'd rather pay a higher ticket price at a "dry" venue then have to put-up with so many drunken fools who can't maintain themselves.

At one of the Foo Fighters acoustic shows in Hollywood a few years back, there were 2 drunken, backwards- baseball cap wearing fellas in the front row who felt the need to stand up, face the audience and high-five those around them during every song.. Mind you, this was an acoustic show. Dave finally started to ridicule them, and after a few songs,, he suggested that they go back stage and start drinking Jager, and that Dave would join them later. They were escorted out of their seats, but I didn't see them backstage, so perhaps they were shown the door!

and one more thing...why do people think its ok to drip beer on other people? Have they ever heard of sipping the foam off the top?

I bet Eddie had a song or two he skipped over cause of the assholes in the crowd, had to take too much time out of the show between songs to tell everyone to "shut the fuck up"

either way it was my first Eddie solo show and the show was great and im going to the next two in chicago shows!! cant wait!

Sarcasm....I hate leaving the venue smelling like stale beer too. Especially if you get pulled over on the way home. It's never believable to say, "sorry, I reek of beer, but I swear I am sober." It's happened to me in the past.
