Reading your post gave me an idea. Perhaps Ed should "plant" an idiot in the audience who causes a ruckus during the first two songs, gets dragged out kicking and screaming, never to return - just to set an example. As you said, "yellers got scared straight." I think it could work.

This is a GREAT idea and would be a way better audience plant than the "Hey Ed, who ya' voting for?" people which I always imagined emboldened the screamers...

I agree the next time Eddie does a tour should be only for the ten club.

I don't understand statements like this. You think limiting a show to a fan club will eliminate all the assholes? Just because someone doesn't pay fan club membership dues doesn't mean they're not a true fan who deserves to see a good show.

If this were in the 70s, Fonzie, Robin Yount and Carmine Ragussa would have taken matters into their own hands. Maybe even Squiggy and Chachi would have gotten involved as well!

When I read West Coast reviews that pointed out that yelling was a problem and that there was the plant, I thought the same thing. Don't know how long he's been doing it like last night, but he just went through the routine without the plant. And it was still effective.

Man, I go to a shitload of concerts every year - ranging from the intimate sit down acoustic shows, up to raging arena shows. Rarely do I let those stupid drunks ruin my show..which there is almost always someone - doesn't matter who is playing - some people are assholes you can't ban them from the shows unfortunately so that is that. Perhaps I've learned to just ignore them/tolerate and accept it. Also, I'm too damn old to be getting wasted, lol. So it isn't fair for you to be telling me I should try a show sober because it'll be more memorable - thats such a STUPID comment! Last night was very memorable for me, and I remember every min. of it. I was not wasted, I was not out of my mind. I had a clear mind and fully enjoyed the show - maybe I just don't let idiots get to me and have learned to ignore them better than you have. It sux for those who were annoyed by people...but I knew full well what to expect. I was zoned into the show, not the crowd.

And yeah banning drinking isn't gonna stop or change anything - they find a way to party beforehand...there's a reason prohibition didn't stand a chance. Now if they would only legalize MJ, there would be much mellow people in the crowds, and less rowdy drunks, which I'm all for. :)

I like how my post got you so fired up and that you have conviction but I think you need to read it again. I never said that I've had shows ruined I've been to personally I said "fans''. But hey its just an opinion to each his own. Nobody is forcing it on you. Maybe they don't bug you but they sure seem to bug a lot of people. Eddie included. I think you've been smoking a little to much MJ.

I heard a lot more yelling from down below than in the balcony. What does that say, eh?

So, I haven't read through every post in this topic as I am at work, but I sat 2 rows directly behind the guy that got tossed. His seats were Row E seats 1 and 2 in the center eisle if anyone cares.

He was annoying, claiming the guy next to him was spilling his drinks when it had to be him because he was an absolute mess and the guy next to him was there with his girlfriend and totally sober. He was flailing his arms around during slow songs and throwing his drink up as if to salute. That would be ok at a full band show but this got annoying for the whole section behind him. The guy next to him reported him and security came down and talked to him, then he was reported to security by at least two other people sitting around him and security continuously just came up to look at him or ask him to calm down. This was honestly the most distracting part. I wish they either just tossed him to begin with or they just stopped checking on him, because it was a constant commotion. It honestly ruined a good portion of the middle of the show for me. When they finally came to get him he was all slumped over and was yelling "leave me alone", then they finally grabbed him (it took 2 or 3 security guards) and I thought that he was going to hit one of the guys that reported him. It was a mess, it was much better once he was gone though. His buddy bailed on him about a half hour before his exodus, haha.

On top of that the screaming "I Love you Eddie" girl was directly behind me and hung out with "drunk I'm a 10c member" guy.

My seats were fantastic though and I thought the show was great. I wish I could have had a better experience of a couple of the songs though.

Note to security at these shows, if someone is complained about on multiple occasions just get them out of there!!! haha

I was the guy (with the hat) sitting right next to the 400lb drunk, row E seat 3. I really think more needs to be said about what really happened here. When I first got my tickets I was soooo excited as this was the closest I have ever been. Then when we went to our seats the guy was already drunk holding 3 drinks, accusing me of spilling 8 of his drinks that apparently he was imagining. So, the show start and he begins singing loudly, I politely ask him to be a little quieter. He did not stop, a few songs later the two people in from of him went to complain and security came and said something to him. Then all of a sudden in his "rocking out" he starts banging violently on the ladies chair in front of him, she turns around and asks him to stop, he keeps banging on her freakin chair. At this point we got up, went and got a security guard explained what was going on, directed them to him, and with the concurence of everyone around they walked him out. At this point I was a little mad because he ruined part of the show for everyone around, but I was Ok because security had dealt with it. This next part is why I am really angry, two songs after they walked him out civily, he comes back in and sits back down next to me!!!!!!! Starts threatening me, asking why I would get him kicked out and what did he do, blah, blah blah. Then a little while later he went into his wild yelling rage and yeah everyone saw what happened next.

We stayed for about a half hour after the show because I was not leaving till I spoke to someone from the venue. After basically getting the cold shoulder, I finally got to talk to the head of security and riverside manager . . . I explained what happened, voiced my opinion . . not really sure if it did much, but whatever.

My point is yes I believe the guy should have his membership revoked, and I understand there is no precedence, but getting arrested (security told me he was arrested) at a show, I believe should set that precedence. I am honestly more mad at the venue for allowing him to come back in after I got security to get him out the first time.

    Thats all I got . .

Well if you were so "Zoned In" then perhaps you saw how much it pissed Eddie off.

We went thru something similar on L.A.....a few guys behind us were warned, but that didn't stop them. Then, other people in the row behind us started jabbering at people behind them.

Seeing how it wouldn't be feasible to get everyone to quiet down, I went to the head of security who was nice enough to move us to much closer seats after I explained the situation.

Curious as to whats "off". When you loop tracks it turns out different every time and I thought it was COOL last night. I don't think its meant to sound exactly like the CD track....

No, it's not supposed to sound like the track. it was off from the very first loop, but once your in your in. It was much faster and almost forced. Thats the 9th one of those I've seen. The first 8 were perfect. Again, this was only 2 or 3 seconds after some guy yelled... "wheres your wife!" He did do a good job wrapping it up though.

What really sucks as a Milwaukee resident myself, is reading all these posts and most of them are negative issues from last night, some positive also, but mostly negative. I can't understand how people can such little respect for Ed, and felt like they needed to yell stupid sh!t out last night. It was a great show, with the exception of the idiots, which I know will be there the next time and everytime after, that's if Ed even wants to come back here.

To all the idiots at last nights show, next time sit down, shut up, enjoy the show or get the f*ck out so eveyone else can.

Here is my take for anyone who wants to read it:

This was my second Ed solo show and my friends third (making it 4 between us).

The heckling in Milwaukee was no worse than the others, in fact it wasn't as bad as Toronto; at least from my seat.

One minute Ed would be asking for silence, the next he would be asking the crowd which song the wanted to hear.... it made no sense.

Ed seemed to not be able to ignore even the slightest and insignificant comments from the crowd.

The venue was very nice and Liam once again won the crowd over.

I don't want to bash Ed, but I would hate to read any newspaper reviews of the show because... honestly Ed's set was dominated by him scolding the crowd. It sucked all of the emotion out of the songs.

    Interesting take on it...

I do remember thinking Ed seemed to want it both ways at times.

There is a limit though..."where's your wife", "you suck", etc...bad

Yep... "you suck" and "where's your wife" are completely uncalled for but both occurred after Ed "fell over" on the stage and then did fucking push-ups.

I am not condoning heckling, I don't say a word... but last night was weird, it was almost like Ed was looking for a fight.

If it was anyone but Ed I would have walked out, not sure what the deal was last night.

I think you've been smoking a little to much MJ.

lol yeah that must be it.

Yeah it is fucking annoying when people are talking. I get that ed was pissed off...I'm not sure why that's a point but that is ok - its not like I can do or say anything to make it stop. Honestly, wouldn't you just figure that he'd be used to it by now...as someone else said - this isn't the only show there is banter. I think he deals with it rather well all things considered. That's my opinion. :)

MY alpine 03 show was a ruined experience - just HORRIBLE and I couldn't get away from the screaming/singing/drunk beer spilling assholes - lawn for pj alpine again, hell no i'll pay whatever for seat. I couldn't of been more PISSED. So it's not like I don't get it or understand, I just try not to let it get to me because like in 03, I couldn't even let myself enjoy the show.

I just don't see how bitching about it on a message board solves anything...this shit doesn't just happen at eddie shows. It happens at most of them...maybe not as bad though.

OK lets spin this....I'd rather talk about the show. This thread has become so negative...perhaps lets focus on the POSITIVES! What were some of your favorite parts of the show? I personally LOVED ARC, but it was my first time hearing that live. Some people mentioned that it was off. :)

Rolling Stone probably was there and will have the full interview... :)

I think allot will depend on Chicago...if it goes bad he'll probably just give up on the solo stuff for now and be a dad to #2. Again...allot on his mind these days.

He'll be fine once he's out with the band and can't hear the drunks....or expects them.

Was there supposed to be more solo stuff in the works? I kind of figured that regardless of how the solo tour went, this would be it for a while since Ed's got family stuff to focus on. And a new PJ album to record. :)

Oh, and any particular reason you think Rolling Stone was there? I know David Fricke was at one of the New York shows, and it made me wonder whether they're following Ed around for a story... it would be a fascinating read.

No idea on RS...it just really hasn't feaured the tour yet...thinking it should be in the next issue...who knows.

I agree on family and the next PJ LP. Its one reason I can't imagine another VFC tour..too much going on in Ed's life and he's done his short promo bit for OBama at most shows...
