And I know you kinda have to take what you get but this is a band who should be playing longer sets
On paper I totally get that but given they're pretty much in their sixties and that their songs are so long it probably warrants more of a breakdown.
They're doing 5 FI songs generally a night-all are over 10 minutes long and 7empest is 16. Say an average pop/rock song is 3-4 minutes that's the length of 15 of those songs there. The Pot is 7 (2 songs) Pushit is 10 (2.5 songs), Rosetta is 12 (3 songs), extended Stinkfist is 7 (2 songs) Hooker is 5 (1 song) Grudge is 9 (2.5 songs) Patient 7 (2 songs) 46+2 7(2 songs) extended Opiate 9? (2 songs). Take a mix of those with an eye to "time in play" and you're looking about the length of 25+ conventional songs, which is impressive (especially for Danny who is absolutely incredible).
I'd love them to play a 20 song set with Maynard able to belt out his screams as intensely as he did 25 years ago but age is a bitch. I'd have seen Eulogy Third Eye 4 Degrees Jerk Off and been smug as all fuck. But you have contenders for the best light show going around and the best drummer going around (not to mention a heap of other world class aspects about the show). So as much as I want more, I think they're going pretty hard.
P.S. if they played a 20 song set at the Sphere I'd give my left nut to be there.
I'd be there for a 10 song set. Perfect venue for them.

Never been to MSG, it's on my bucket list, and as fate would have it, the mrs. is probably going to be traveling in January, but having scored Sessanta tickets, I can't even entertain it. I'm currently looking to unload at least one of my CT tickets for next month (if not both).
Snagged a pair in Atlanta for $65 a piece. Pretty happy - never seen them before
Awesome.
You're in for a treat... the only reason I'm down on the setlist is because of how many times I've seen them & I just can't justify shelling out the $ for 3 shows. I'm still keeping my Boston ticket tho... They really are one of the best live shows I've ever experienced.
Make sure that you're aware of their no phone policy before you go. I've seen stories on reddit of people being ejected from the 10/11 Salt Lake City show, without warning, for taking a picture or short video. Some were kicked out during the first song or even the opening band. Wait until the end because Maynard says something about photos and videos being okay for the last song.

I would take the Reddit posts w/ a grain of salt. Tool’s been pretty up front about the zero tolerance policy for camera usage at their shows for a long time. There are usually signs everywhere, and an announcement shortly before they take the stage that violators will be ejected.

I didn't notice any of the warning signs posted in the Delta Center, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. I noticed that some of the seats in the floor sections had papers taped to the the back which probably had a warning, but there weren't any in my section. There was a recorded announcement that played every few minutes before they took the stage that said something about no cameras. There was also an email from the venue the day of the show that said: "No Camera Policy: Tonight's show has a strict NO CAMERA policy which includes cell phones." I didn't see anyone in my section get kicked out, but my son said that he saw a few people on the opposite side of the arena being escorted out. I can just see how someone going to their first Tool show could either miss those warnings or not realize the seriousness of violating the policy.
Rosetta stoned out last night. I know it’s not their best song but I’d love to see it. As a drummer, I’d love to watch DC rip through it. It’s so difficult. There’s no way I’d go with last nights set. I hope it changes significantly for the next leg. They hit this area with this set already.

So early on, it looks like they’re swapping out Pushit w/ RS, and then in that slot right before the encore they’re rotating Stinkfist, 46&2 & Swamp Song.
NGL, despite having heard it more, I would still take Pushit over RS. & I would LOVE to hear Swamp Song, but the other two songs, while great tracks & staples of their library have also been played at pretty much every show they played pre-2022; it’s kind of uninspiring that those are what’s being rotated.

Good luck. I think that can get you 4 total, for whatever combo of shows. For the last one I used mine to get 3 for Boston & 1 for CT.
