Second time I've attended a non-PJ show, rolled up to the merch table, and oh hey a Klausen print

This would have been a killer print if not for the 3 band members in front. The Primus poster was awesome, as was the show. Josh Freese is a f’ing machine and I could watch Ler Lalonde play guitar all day long.

How did this show go. Lots of colabs?
Excited for primus's  new drummer.watched all those audition videos. Sure it was great.
Hoffman was awesome and what a story… he probably still pinches himself daily.

Yes, lot’s of collabs… some subtle like Carina doing backing vocals on a couple APC songs or Hoffman or LaLonde sitting in on a song w/ APC; some bigger like all 3 drummers jumping in on a Puscifer song or all the APC musicians coming out & jamming w/ Primus during Southbound Pachyderm. Then all 3 bands perform Grand Canyon together to close out the show. My biggest takeaway is the same as last year’s and that’s how much fun they seem to be having.

I would pay a lot of dough for one more full set of the OG Josh/Paz/Troy lineup

Same… I was more jealous of those in attendance at the Sessanta Hollywood Bowl show for getting to see that OG lineup perform Judith than I was for them getting to see Tool / all 3 of Maynard’s bands in one night.

Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall after a very restful summer exploring the Great Canadian Wilderness and beaches, listening to Pearl Jam, Headstones, Watchmen, Queens of the Stone Age, and many others.

That'd also be Maynard if he comes across a fan.

I imagine the first taste a bogan gets of slightly more cerebral rock could very likely turn them into one of those sycophantic bell ends and they totally miss the irony and contrast the band and music exhibit. Have seen the end product of that 😂

They're just as likely to tell a dick joke as they are to talk about sacred geometry. Hell Danny Carey will talk about the occult wearing his titties and beer shirt. Highlights the need to just enjoy the journey their music takes you on whilst not taking them too seriously. The contrast makes everything more effective though. Quiet/loud, slow burning epics, just some great tunes by some regular dudes who happen to be awesome musicians. Just wish we had two more albums by now. And a less rabid fan base.
