  • He was also born wealthy. It's easy to lose a small fortune when you start with a big one. He's also one of the worst users of corporate welfare--tax breaks to build his hotels and casinos.

Can't blame trump for actually using the tax laws that are in place.

At which point of our roughly 240 year history does Trump want to bring us back to make us Great Again??

There's never been a perfect time, but I think if we would just follow the advice of George Washington, not form political parties and make decisions based on the good of the country and not your party would be good.

I do believe that Obama has tried atleast to do this, but the president doesn't have as much power as they did back in the Washington days, so you have to rely on congress and other parts of government to do the same, which is not the case today.

So I gather you think such laws aren't that fantastic.

Do you think Trump would work to serve the general public who ultimately pay for corporate loopholes... or work to serve people like himself and maintain- perhaps even build- corporate benefits so the rich can get richer exploiting (as Brian said) the land, resources, and your people en route to building a pile of gold?

I would like to hear exactly how Mr trump claims to "make America great again" for the majority of the people in this country (the working class, the middle class).
All I've heard so far is his plan to keep brown people out, and I don't see that helping anyone.
Can someone perhaps clarify his tax breaks plan? That is, if anyone would really be worried about their taxes when they are making a lot less than they used to.

I'm not impressed with the ways that tax incentives have been given to businesses in my community and don't seem to have benefited anyone but the actual businesses, which will almost certainly pack up and move when their deals expire. Do I blame Trump for using deals like that? I suppose not, if communities are gullible enough to go along with them. Doesn't mean I think Trump has done those communities any good nor that it makes him qualified to lead a nation. More that we are a country of slow learners.

He worked his first big deal in the 70s with a tax break and a "small loan" of $1million from his dad. I just can't look at that and say, "Wow, what a self-made man!"

Gore Vidal once talked about how he knew several presidents, some of whom he liked very much, some he had much disdain for, but either way he said, "To get to that level they were all in somebodies pocket. All of them." Now, it will be interesting to see how this would pan out if Trump were to be elected seeing as he is one of the deep pockets. (But they'll have to make a movie or TV show about that because he won't be.)

Oh, and what would Vidal say about all this? Oh how I wish he were still with us!

I really wanted to hear from the Trump supporters but I'll ask you if you've ever heard the term "the rich get richer"...

Some of these extreme people don't even belong at the adults' table. Talking about going nuclear on ISIS and abolishing the IRS, EPA, and FDA... Infantile ideas that haven't been thought past the sound bite... No government??? What a laughably moronic idea!

yeah anytime I hear a politician say they want to abolish the IRS I think "are they really that stupid or are they just pandering to the stupid?"

The IRS does nothing but collect taxes and enforce the tax laws passed by Congress. They do not make laws. In what situation would in make sense to abolish the agency that provides funding to the military and everything else funded by the government? Just plain ignorant.

The OP started this thread and then preceded to bash on Obama he is the one who derailed it , after all to come up with even one good thing Trump would do as president is really hard to do ....

If I knew that you would bash my every word I wouldn't say anything on here either.

Give some people a chance to speak. It sucks when all you get is negative feedback.

The Trump supporters are obviously in the minority so let them have a voice.
Yes and always thankful when we get alternative views.

How boring if we had nothing but softie, liberal pinkos. Ha.

Pollution. Without EPA the Great Lakes would be dead along with Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico. Power plants and refineries would be filling our air with even more soot.

Have enjoyed Trumps bashing of rights past positions and members. The McCain thing was Funny. And he got away with it. Imagine Obama saying this?
